I never celebrated Father's Day as a child. The most memorable moment in my life with my father was when I was studying in Class 10. I heard that the maths paper was out and that it could be bought. So, I approached my dad for the money, (about Rs 5,000) even though I was well-prepared for the exam.
The moment I told him that I needed money to buy the question paper, he gave me a thrashing for even thinking of doing such a thing. He said that he didn't care if I scored low marks or failed, but he didn't ever want to see me cheating. My dad, being an ex-army man, was a strict disciplinarian yet, loving and affectionate. The best gift that I have ever received from my dad is his love and the security he offers.
