Right. No one would mind much when they see a man hanging around a house with a bunch of cows and buffaloes. But then again he might install some stealth camera on one of his cow which will give him access to entrance of the house. And might have installed several more cameras on porch and hallway while giving milk in mornings.

You have not given a description of the neighbour hood...nu-uh. For all we know, there could be random men in cows. In Bangladesh there was this crazy man who would keep his cow in the alley way into our house and then steal rice :| Anything is possible in this twisted world.

-24 hour Daakiya, can look through their personal letters (illegally of course) has an excuse to visit the houses and the neighbouring houses.

It's also quite possible given how Mrs. Guha doesn't have access to internet and carries a monolith cellphone which doesn't connect to internet and access her emails. She and her son have just started using post before which they were using homing pigeons. See what can happen with technology. Postmen reading letters (personal stuff) and killing woman and child. Tch...tch..

Some things just can't be e-mailed and Mrs Guha may not be as net savvy as you Ms.Sookie...sadly the poor lady may not have been educated in IT :( You, have ruined a woman's education by not mentioning it :( Bad Sookie!

She was lying in a crimson haze. It was as if he had walked into a room with only red lights on. But he knew that redness of the room was not because of light. No. It wasn't. The walls of moderately sized room were reflecting the liquid red that was splashed across the room. His shoes squelched whenever they made contact with the floor. There was something familiar about the woman's profile ' the way blood tainted her angular jaw jutted out in stubborn rebellion, her once wild hair now horribly knotted and sticking to her scalp. But the bloody mess couldn't help him recognize the face from where he stood. But the familiarity that had initially hit him was causing havoc in his mind. He forcefully moved forward taking in the ghastly smell of something primordial and something terribly dark as his feet protested every moment he stalled. His lungs swished down a breath as his feet brought him two feet away from the woman. He closed his eyes to avoid the onslaught of emotions that accompanied with the grotesque image ' fear. It paralyzed him with shock and horror scrawled on his face when the face of the blood trotted woman turned to a familiar face. Bile rose in his throat and his vision became hazy.

He didn't know if he was welcoming the darkness or the darkness took pity on him and took him in its embrace.

"Maan, are you okay?" Geet called him out in soft whisper as Satya and Emily disappeared inside the room. Maan swiftly turned away from the door and leaned on the accompanying wall, facing hallway. His knees gave away and he slowly slid down the wall his head lolling against the wall. Had his eyes were open he would have seen the flash of terror that ran on Geet's face at his state. He took several deep breaths and whispered, "I am okay." It tasted like artificial sugar in his mouth ' bitterness morphed to sweetness. He felt Geet kneel down close to him as he could hear the crispness of her trouser made a soothing ruffling sound. He felt cool of her hands run over his forehead and caress his cheek. He breathed a sigh of content and ordered his nerves to stay calm. The throb in his chest reduced and the claws of unknown fear that clenched his heart were retracted.

He finally opened his eyes to see her brown ones filled with concern.

"I am okay," he whispered. "Let's go in," he said a moment later picking himself up from floor. He didn't ignore her helping hand as she held his shaky ones. She gently squeezed it looking into his eyes and nodded. He let go of her hand as they entered the bedroom.
