1. What is the magnitude of g at a height above earth surface where free fall acceleration equals 6.5 m/s*2?

2. Suppose the value of G has just been discovered. Use the value of G and an approximate value for the earth radius(6.38 x 10*g m) to find an approximation fore Earths mass?

1. g = free fall acceleration = 6.5 m/s^2

2. g = G M/R^2
M = g R^2/G
M = 9.81 * (6.38 * 10^6)^2/(6.67 * 10^-11)
M = 5.99 * 10^24 kg
