Recap: Everyone knows Khushi is pregnant. Rahul found out since he is a doctor. Khushi doesn't know. Arnav is going to tell her.
Arnav slowly made his way up to their room, his mind swirling with mindless thoughts. What am I going to say to her? What will she think? How will she react? Why am I telling her? Anyone else could have told her! He stopped half way up the stairs and slightly shook his head. No. I am going to be the one to tell her. She is pregnant due to me, well partially me. It's my right to tell her so I will!
He turned into the corridor. But what if she is not happy? What if she is not ready for a baby? What is she does not want the child? He stood in front of their bedroom door. Well whatever is her decision is mine. I won't force her into parenthood… Taking a deep breath he pushed the door open gently.
Looking in, he walked in warily as if he was walking onto a battle field. He looked around carefully; trying to find her but the room was empty. The blankets on the bed were overturned, the bed sheets crumpled. The blinds were open, letting in rays of sunshine, brightening the room. Where is she? Rahul said she was in bed resting! Where did she go?! He looked over at the poolside, no one was there either. Walking to the French glass doors, he looked more carefully. That's when he heard the bathroom door click.
Arnav swiftly turned around to look at Khushi. He opened his mouth to say what he had come to say but all words betrayed him. His mind was an empty swirl, his thoughts only surrounded around one thing, baby, he whispered.
"What happened Arnav? Are you okay? Is something wrong?" Khushi asked curiously.
"What? No! No everything is fine," Arnav reassured himself more than her.
"Then why are you staring as if you have never seen me before?" Khushi inquired as she made her way to the closet.
"What? Nothing. It's just… nothing," Arnav hastily responded, turning his back on her and looking out at the garden instead.
"Oh well your shampoo is all used up so I will just replace the bottle with a new one," Khushi said, not really noticing the hesitance in his behavior.
Khushi was in her own world and thoughts. She had not been surprised to see him home so early since she knew he would come back the moment he heard she was sick. No, no that's not surprising at all." What was surprising or worrying her more was the fact that he had not yelled at her yet. He should have told me by now to take better care of myself… Why has he not done that yet?!"
She opened the closet to see that the shampoo was on the top shelf. Swiftly she pulled up a table and got on top of it. Her hands still could not reach the bottle. Getting a determined look on her face, Khushi went on her tip toes to grab the bottle.
Arnav glared at his plants his mind, half set to go start gardening. He had been avoiding looking at Khushi since then she would question him more and he was in no state to answer any queries of hers. He was almost out the door when he heard her call him. He turned around to see her perched on a table which looked like it would give away any moment.
"Arnav? Will you help me with this? I can't seem to get a hold of it," Khushi complained, shifting her weight on her feet impatiently.
Before Khushi knew what happened, the table underneath her fell, taking her down with it. She closed her eyes shut in anticipation to hit the cold marble ground. Instead she felt two familiar arms catch her bringing her in contact with her warm muscular husband. Her hands were wound around his neck, her head nuzzled in his chest so she could calm herself. Slowly, she brought herself to pull away from his embrace and open his eyes.
Khushi looked at him, regretting instantly about moving her head way from his chest so she could at him. He was mad, no that's not the right word, furious. She braced herself for the scolding she was bound to get not. Khushi! Why? Why did you have to push you luck? Now you have no one to blame besides yourself, she mentally chided herself. But not any of the preparing would have ever had her be ready to hear what she did.
"What is wrong with you Khushi? How many times have I told you to be careful? Why don't you listen to me?" Arnav shouted in rage, putting her down on the ground and turned away from her. He ran a hand through his hair, irritated with his own incapability to tell her.
Khushi brought her arms around him, placing her head on his back. She had known he would get mad but this had not been the reaction she had expected. He is not even looking at me! He never does that unless he is really mad. I know I probably should have thought about doing what I was doing itna gussa?
"Arnav… Arnav look at me. Arnav… Arnav, I am sorry! I didn't know…" Khushi said, holding on to him by his shoulders, so he wouldn't look away again.
"Khushi stop!" Arnav commanded grabbing her by her shoulders, "You are going to get hurt one day if you keep this up and what about my child huh? You were going to kill my child!" Arnav blurted out.
"What? Child? Our child? Where?! Since when!?! Shouldn't I be the one who should know if we have a child or not?!" Khushi asked completely perplexed.
Arnav sighed as he realized what he had said. He took her to the bed and made her sit down wondering how he could make the questions stop spewing out of her mouth. Sitting down besides her, he took her hand in his while taking a deep breath.
"Khushi, you are not sick. You are pregnant," Arnav said, all the while examining her face for a reaction.
Khushi sat there in shock. She had heard what her husband had said but her mind was still registering. Before she knew it, her eyes welled up and she started to cry.
"Khushi?! Khushi! Why are you crying?! Do you not want this? Are you not hap-," Arnav asked, interrupted by Khushi who had put a hand on his mouth.
"Shhsh. I am very, very, very happy," Khushi told him through her tears, "Now I have a part of you with me always. Don't you dare say that I am not happy," Khushi commanded.
She put her head on his chest as she gave him a huge hug, crying tears of joy in his shirt.
"We are going to have a baby!" she whispered, "We are going to be parents!"
Arnav put his arms around her patting her hair down soothingly. "I know," he whispered back.
"Do you love me less now?" Arnav asked curiously as he continued to play with her hair.
Khushi pulled back and said, "We will have to see about that!" smiling at his pouting face.
