Part 14

It was almost time for the examinations for both Maan and Geet... It was a serious atmosphere in the entire Khurana and Handa mansion... Maan as instructed by Geet was completely away from business for these few months... He concentrated completely on his studies... Even if there were times when his mind would go to random things there was someone to keep an eye on him...

One day, Maan had just come out of his room for some fresh air... He wanted to see what was going on in the house... He thought he would go to Daadima for a short chat and learn whatever was going on with business these days... Even if he had started to talk less about business and stuff, he always had the curiosity to learn what was going on in office... So looking around for Geet when he didn't find her in the mansion, he proceeded towards Daadi's room...

Maan (to himself): Lagta hai ghar par nahi hai... Achcha hai... I'll get to talk to Daadi... Nahi to ye ladki pata nahi kitni baatein karti hai... Jab dekho iske pass kuch na kuch hota hai bolne k liye... Aisa nahi hai ki main uske saath bore ho jaata hoon ya use pareshaan ho jaata hoon but still yaar I always wonder itna koi kaise bol sakta hai... (He just slightly knocks at the door of Daadi's room when he sees her and Rano sitting conversing on something which appeared to be serious when suddenly...)

Geet: Maaannn... (in an angry tone)

Maan (turns around to see Geet standing with an angry face and hands on her hips): Geet... Kya hua??? Chilla kyun rahi ho???

Geet (loudly): Kya keh rahe the tum???

Maan: Maine kuch nahi bola... Seriously... I didn't say anything... I just thought I was missing u and here u r...

Geet: Go to hell Maan... Mujhe nahi baat karni tumse...

Maan (goes towards Geet): Geet, aise kyun baat kar rahi ho... Ab maine kya kiya???

Geet: Tumne bola ki tum meri baaton se bore ho jaate ho and that I speak too much... Aaj se tumse baat karna band... I am not going to talk to u Mr. Maan Singh Khurana... Lets see how u manage widout me talking to u...

Maan: Geet, aisa nahi hai yaar... Main to mazaak kar raha tha... Infact main tumhi ko dhoondh raha tha... Itni der se tumhari bakwaas nahi suni thi naa... I was actually missing u soo much (He says...pulling her cheeks)

Geet: Yeah right... Daadi ke kamre mein... Aur kya kaha tumne main bakwaas karti hoon??? That's so rude Maan... I wonder y m I even talking to u... Main kyun baat karti hoon tumse... When Geet Handa can talk to hundereds of other people out there... Y does dad's and Raj uncle's princess talk to u...

Maan: Arre princess... Tum iss baat ko itna importance kyun de rahi ho... Main sach mein mazaak kar raha tha... I am sorry aage se kabhi bhi aisi galti nahi hogi...

Geet: U'll b forgiven but there's a condition...

Maan: Anything for u ma'am... (bows down a little) Aap jo kahengi wo hum karenge... But then I hope m forgiven...

Geet: Hmm... Abhi kcuh nahi hai... But I have something in my mind... Jab right time hoga, I will tell u this condition... As far as apology is concerned, dekhenge... (walks away)...

Maan: Geet yaar, abhi bhi attitude dikha rahi ho mujhe??? Bola na I am sorry... Maan Singh Khurana ne sorry bola hai yaar thoda to iss baat ko importance do...

Geet: Hmmm... Theek hai... But condition yaad rakhna... But haan above all... No loss to studies... In case u have to study hum kal ya kabhi aur chale jaayenge...

Maan: Geet... Its alright... I cant be studying for 24 hours a day... I need a break too... So jab main wo break lunga we will go for a walk...

Geet gives him a sweet smile and Maan smiles back... Daadima and Rano smile seeing the two friends smiling...

Daadi: Rano, abhi iss baat ko humko chupana hoga jab tak Maan aur Geet k exams khatam nahi ho jaate... I don't want them to be disturbed in their studies...

Rano: Par maa... batana to padega na... Aaj nahi to kal... They have to know about it...

Daadi: Batana to hoga hi... But agar abhi bataya to they will get worried and it might affect their studies jo main nahi chahti... I want them to be done with their exams first... As it is ye bachche ismein kuch nahi kar sakte hain... I and u have to take the decision...

Rano agrees to Savitri Devi and they both leave for their work...

Its almost the evening time when Geet and Maan were both studying in the study room of the Khurana Mansion... They had got into the habit of studying together... They would generally study together and see to it that they help each other wherever they could...

Geet was facing some problem in the Maths sample paper she was solving when she thought she needs help for it as she couldn't crack the question...

Geet (to herself looking at Maan who was into serious studies): Geet yaar, poochna to padega hi... He will tell u in no time... Agar iss question ko abhi nahi kiya to aage badh nahi paaungi... But he is into so serious studies... I don't want to break his concentration... But Geet yaar, he says na he will always help me with problems... He will do it abhi bhi... 2 minutes ka hi to kaam hai... Rehne de Geet baad mein hi pooch lungi...

Maan (finds her talking to herself, chewing her pencil and staring in free space somewhere close to him): Geet, kya hua??? Koi problem hai kya??? Kisse baat kar rahi ho??? Don't tell me its one of ur famous talks to urself... (smirks)

Geet (makes a straight face): Maine tumse baat ki?? Nahi na... Ab tumko mere khud se baat karne se bhi problem hai... Theek hai... Main hi jaa rahi hoon... Mujhe nahi padhna tumahre saath...

Maan (holds her hand and makes her sit down on the chair): Kis question mein problem hai Geet???

Geet (stares at him): Tumko kaise pata ki kisi question mein problem hai mujhe???

Maan: Geet, I know u since the day u were born... I know u far better than anyone else... Now tell me which question???

Geet: Par phir bhi how did u come to know I was facing some problem with the question???

Maan: Geet the way u were looking at me and chewing ur pencil with ur famous talk with urself, I could easily make it... Tum yehi soch rahi thi na ki main disturb to nahi ho jaaunga tumhare question poochne se...???

Geet: Haan, mujhe laga ki u r studying and I shouldn't disturb u...

Maan: And don't u know it u can disturb me anytime u want... Kabhi kisi bhi cheez k liye mana kiya hai???

Geet: But main tumhara concentration break nahi karna chahti thi...

Maan: Then simple hai... U could have asked me softly... Agar main uss time busy hota to I could have told u ki we'll discuss it a little later... Simple hai... Itna complicate kyun kar rhi ho???

Geet: Ab maine kya kiya... Agar tumhare baare mein soch rhi thi to tumko usmein bhi problem hai???

Maan: Geet tum na seriously pagal ho... Chalo question poocho...

Geet: Har baat par taana maarna zaroori hai bas... Anyways please ismein help kar do...

Maan helps Geet with the question... After solving the question, Geet gets up to go out of the study...

Maan: Kahan jaa rahi ho abhi???

Geet: Maan mera abhi padhai mein bilkul mann nahi lag raha hai... Please thodi der baad padh lungi... U continue with ur studies...

Maan: But Geet, atleast complete this exercise...

Geet: Maan please baad mein... I'll come back a little later... (saying this she goes out)...

After 10 minutes she comes back to the study and puts a cup in front of Maan... Before he could say something...

Geet: Aisa kuch nahi hai... Aur thanks kehne ki zaroorat nahi hai... I had gone to get u coffee and hot chocolate milk for myself... (smiles)

Maan: Thanks Geet... U always knw whatever I need...

Geet: Karna padta hai yaar... Best friend k liye itna to karna chahiye bhi... Anyways, padhai time again...

They both get into studies again...
