Arohi entered the door; she looked around and was stunned. Arjun walked in and looked at Arohi whose expression was all shocked. 'Oh Crap' he said in his mind when he thought of the only reason of her shocked expression.
Arohi was still looking around the living room trying to take in what she was seeing. Actually there was nothing to see except for a big LED TV and a mattress on the floor on which a single person can sleep. She was actually amused seeing the sight. She had not accepted this; she had not imagined how the house would be but had never thought that the house would be empty. Other than those two things, she could see a glass double door, just in front of her. On her left there were two doors and on her right there was a sliding glass door and a staircase, it was a duplex flat.
Arjun cursed himself mentally for this. Why didn't this come up in his mind before? He would have arranged something. He's been married for a week now and this thing didn't even cross his mind and now he's here with his wife in their house which is empty, other than the walls, the floor and the doors nothing could be seen. What would she think of this? Only if he would have worked on the interiors at the time he had bought that house, or would have hired an interior designer or must have taken help from his friends. 'Friends' he sighed lightly, they didn't even know that his house was in this state except for Dhruv. 'Why did this have to happen with me?' Arjun thought. He looked at Arohi's face and tried to smile.
Arohi looked at Arjun who was looking at her and was smiling sheepishly. She smiled back at him and waited for him to say something. Arjun scratched the back of his head "Well'" he paused and glanced around. He then looked at Arohi who was giving him a curious look he looked away "I bought this apartment few months back. I didn't get time to work with interiors or rather say I'm bad at this so I avoided it. No one comes here and I didn't know that I'll get married. Only half of the house if like this, one of the bedroom, the kitchen and study is fully arranged'" he fumbled and again looked at Arohi who was now smiling widely looking at Arjun's sheepish expression. Arjun sighed "Will have to work on this now' wait I have a better idea why don't you do it?" asked Arjun hoping that she says a yes "I'll help" Arjun added when he didn't get answer. Arohi looked around and nodded her head with a smile. Arjun smiled his dimpled smile and said "come I'll show you around."
Arjun first showed her the first room on the left side which was small and then they entered the second room and Arohi looked at the room with wide eyes. "This is the study" she heard Arjun say. "It more looks like a library" Arohi said almost in an inaudible voice but Arjun heard it and chucked and then looked around himself; the room was very big, very spacious, three sides of the wall had long shelf's filled will books, loads of books. There was a table in the centre which had four chairs around it to be comfortable while working or reading and there was also a synthesizer (Casio) and a guitar in the corner including a computer. "Yeah, it's indeed looks like a library" Arjun said looking at Arohi who was slowly coming out of the shock. She walked towards one of the shelves and glanced at the books, the books there were all related to business. She walked towards the second shelf, there were more books related to business and there were Novels. The third shelf had novels, magazines and the last two racks contained CD's. 'I'll have a look at them later' she thought looking at the CD's. The best part about the study cum library was that the books were arranged very nicely according to their types and the sections were named accordingly, which becomes easy for a person to find the type of book he or she wants.
"You have lots of books" said Arohi going thru the titles of the novels. "Yeah, I love reading. My classmates in my collage use to call me 'Kitabi Kida'" Arjun said shaking his head and then he heard Arohi say "Even I love reading and you have a really nice collection of books." "Thanks' this is one of my favorite parts of the house" said Arjun. "Even I like it" said Arohi and walked towards the synthesizer. Arjun smiled and followed her. "You play these?" Arohi asked moving her hand lightly on the synthesizer first and then the guitar, caressing them with her fingers and palm. "Yup" Arjun said switching on the synthesizer. He played a random tune and smiled looking at Arohi whose face lit up listening to the music and looking at his fingers move on the keys smoothly. "Come I'll show you rest of the house" said Arjun switching off the synthesizer. Arohi nodded and they walked out of the room.
Arjun then showed her the kitchen which was fully furnished and organized like he had said earlier. Arohi had thought of asking him does he know cooking as well. But then she didn't ask thinking that he'll think she's crazy or something. They then walked towards the glass double door "This is my FAVORITE place in the house" Arjun said emphasizing the word 'favorite' and opening the door. Arohi gasped looking at the sight in front of her. It was a small terrace which was sea facing. She walked ahead and stood near the railing. She looked at the sea and admired its beauty feeling the cool breeze. A couple of boats could be seen which were looking small, like an ant moving on the sea. Never in her life had she seen such a beautiful site. Faint sounded of waves could be heard with a little mixture of car honking. She didn't notice Arjun standing beside her until he spoke "Beautiful isn't it?" Arohi looked at Arjun and nodded her head, words were not coming out of her mouth; she was awestruck. "This was the reason I bought this house, when the broker showed me this terrace I immediately said him that I want to buy it" said Arjun to which Arohi smiled. They stood there admiring the sea for few minutes and then Arjun took her up where there were four rooms. They entered the room which was fully furnished, which Arohi assumed was Arjun's room. The room had cream color on the wall and the furniture's were dark brown color. The complete contrast of the wall's color and it was looking good. There was a big window in the room, which was again sea facing.
"You can choose one room for yourself, which ever you like and let me know we'll get that made first till then you can make yourself comfortable here and I'll sleep on the mattress in the living room." Arjun said, mentioning towards his room. Now that they are here in Mumbai, they don't need to share a room. It will be a good option if they stay in different rooms and try to understand, try to know each other until they are ready to take a further step in their relationship.
Arohi was about to protest but Arjun's phone rang. He picked up the phone and spoke to the person on the other side "Yeah, I'm coming" he said to the caller and cut the phone. He then looked at Arohi and said "I have to go to the bank and sort out the problem. It should not take more than a hour an half. I'll get your bags up and you make yourself comfortable." Arohi nodded her head and thought of talking to Arjun later that he don't have to give his room to her and she'll sleep in the living room. "And you are going to stay in this room, till we get one made, so don't bother to tell me that I don't have to do all this and you'll sleep in the living room because I'm not going to listen to this." Arjun said as if he read her mind and walked out of the room smiling to himself and leaving a shocked Arohi behind.

Arjun paid the workers and came back to the living room after the workers left. He looked at the now fully decorated living room which was looking beautiful. His eyes fell on the figure who was adjusting the center table. 'It's all because of her' he thought. It's because of her that the house was looking beautiful; it was looking like a house.
It's been three days since they have come to Mumbai. In these three days Arjun and Arohi worked on the interiors of the house. Arjun had brought catalogues when he had returned back from his meeting the other day so that it would easy for Arohi to decide. He was a bit confused if Arohi was okay with doing this; when he had asked her she had said that she'll do but then he was not sure. He had thought that he would hire an interior designer but when they started selecting things, Arjun had seen the excitement in her eyes and his confusion vanished. She was happy this is all he wants. They first worked on Arohi's room which was exactly opposite to Arjun's room. Both the rooms were quite similar. The only difference was that Arohi's room was a little smaller compared to Arjun's but that was not a problem with Arohi. The size of the room does not matter to her. The only reason she choose that room was because it was sea facing. She liked watching the sea; waking up early in the morning, looking at the sea and feeling the cool breeze; was the thought that had come in Arohi's mind and she wanted to feel that.
Arohi would choose first and then would ask Arjun if he likes it and Arjun would look at her cute expression and would say yes, not that he didn't like whatever she chose, he loved it, in fact he was surprised when she was choosing the combination on a light color and a dark color, he had seen in movies and had also heard that girls like all colorful stuff but here what Arohi chose were of cream color, white color, black color and shades of brown and a little bit of color in it by using night stand and few other decorative items; which was looking perfect. In these three days Arohi got more comfortable with Arjun, she would not hesitate or feel nervous to speak to him and there was always a smile playing on her lips. She could see care for her in Arjun's eyes and she really liked that whereas Arjun was happy that Arohi was opening up with him. Their friendship was growing and this was a good sign in their relationship. He had often found himself lost while looking at Arohi; he would just look at her smiling face and got lost in it. He would get lost in her eyes. Her eyes which now looked happy but still he could see the pain behind that happiness. After they came to Mumbai he had not seen Arohi sad or cry and was glad that she was happy with him and he was enjoying her company, he liked being with her. He was getting a different feeling; a feeling which he had never felt before; a feeling which felt very nice, very soothing but whenever he would think about what it is? He would never get an answer to it.
He came out of his thoughts when he heard Arohi call his name and he saw that Arohi was snapping her fingers in front of his eyes. "Arjun" she said again still snapping her finders in front of him. "Yeah" he said coming out of the trance. "Where are you lost? I've been calling you from such a long time" Arohi said. "Woh' I was... umm... I was thinking' I mean the house is looking so beautiful" Arjun fumbled, a bit taken back by Arohi's question but then immediately changed the topic to save himself. Arohi looked around and nodded her head agreeing to Arjun's words and satisfied with her work. "Come lets have our Lunch or else it will become cold" Arjun said and they walked towards the dining table.
"We need to go to the grocery store" said Arohi while eating her food. Since the day they have come to Mumbai, they have been having food from outside and Arohi does not likes outside food much, she likes homemade food more. "Huh? Why do you have to go to the grocery store?" asked Arjun confused. 'Why does she want to go to the grocery store?' he thought. Arohi looked at him as if he's an alien or something "Why do we go to grocery store Arjun?" asked Arohi 'Doesn't he know why one goes to the grocery store?' she thought and then answered her own question "To buy groceries and I want to do the same" "And why would you want to do that?" Arjun asked; he was still confused. Arohi gave him a look like she'll kill him. 'Why does one buy grocery? Doesn't he know? Is he mad?' thought Arohi. "Do you wish to have food from outside everyday and end up falling ill? Well I don't want that and I don't really like outside food; I like homemade food" said Arohi trying to explain him. 'Oh' mouthed Arjun and stopped eating the food. Now he understood why she wanted to go to the grocery store. She was right she might fall ill because of outside food. He was used to eat outside but she wasn't and he does not want her to fall ill. "Okay then we'll hire a cook" said Arjun going back to his food. Arohi sighed, he was really irritating her now. "No Arjun, I know how to cook and I'm not that bad. And we are only two people so there is no need to hire a cook" said Arohi calmly. Arjun thought, he was a bit hesitant not because he doubted Arohi's cooking but because she could hurt herself. Arohi looked at Arjun when she didn't get any answer. She pleaded him through her eyes and Arjun could not say no "Okay we'll go to the mall to get the groceries after finishing the Lunch" Arjun said to which Arohi smiled widely. Arohi finished off with her last bite and went to her room saying that she'll get ready and come down. Arjun smiled at her excitement and shook his head. 'She's so innocent, so pure at heart' was the thought that came in his mind.
After Arohi came down they went to mall and Arohi picked up all the necessary stuff required and Arjun was most of the time starring at her and pushing the trolley. Arohi was wearing a jeans and a short kurti over it, this was the first time Arjun had seen her in Jeans. In last few days he had seen Arohi wearing Sakwaar Kameez all the time and she was really looking beautiful in jeans and kurti thought Arjun. Arjun looked into her eyes and saw excitement in them, the same excitement which he had seen while she was selecting the interiors and this only told that she loved doing all this and he would let her do but will make sure that she doesn't hurt herself. Arjun would see the change in Arohi's expression all the time while they were buying the groceries. She would smile whenever she would find the exact thing she was searching for and would feel sad or would pout when she would not find what she want and Arjun would just smile at her expression. She would get irritated when her hand would not reach the highest rack because of her short height; she would stand on her toes and would try to reach her hand but it never helped. Arjun would chuckle looking at her expressions and would then move ahead and pick up the thing Arohi needed. He did not have to try as he was tall and it was easy for him to reach his hand on the top most rack. Arohi would look at his face and would see him trying not to laugh which would irritate her more. She would mutter a thanks and would move ahead while Arjun would try hard to not laugh in front of her. He had never enjoyed so much while shopping, he hated it all the time but today he was enjoying every moment of it.
Arjun and Arohi kept the bags at the baggage counter and thought of just hanging around in the mall for some time and then would go back home. They were walking around when Arohi's eye fell on an idol of Ganpati in a gift shop. Arohi walk towards it to have a look from near. "It's beautiful" Arohi mumbled and thought of buying if for their house. She looked at her side to tell Arjun but frowned when she didn't see him. She looked at the other side to check if he was that side but he was not there. She turned around to see if he was behind her but he was not there behind her also. She looked around searching for him but could not see him anywhere. She got scared and panicked, she was sure that she was walking with him but then where did he go she could not understand that. She walked ahead a little; her eyes had now become wet because of tears forming in them. "Arjun?" she said in almost inaudible voice and kept on looking around; she's lost, she thought. She did not know what to do? She's new here she did not know anyone and was unknown to this place. She was on the urge of crying when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and sighed when she saw Arjun and whispered "Arjun."
Arjun looked at Arohi's eyes and saw that they were wet. He immediately got worried he kept his hand on her shoulder and asked "What happened Arohi?" concern could be heard in his voice. Arohi sighed when she heard his voice "I' I didn't see you and I got scared, I thought that I was lost" Arohi stammered and a tear escaped from her eyes. Arjun heard her and he realized what he had just done. He had got a phone call when they were walking. He had stopped to attend the call and had seen Arohi walking towards the gift shop. As the signal was weak he had gone near the window unknowingly, so that he could hear the voice from the other side clearly. Now that he realized what he's done? He smacked himself mentally for it, he should have informed Arohi. It was obvious that she would get scared as the place was completely new to her, she didn't even knew anyone here apart from him and she didn't even have a mobile phone so that she could contact him.
Arjun wiped her tears and said "I'm sorry Arohi, I got a call and signal was weak so for better signal I'" he trailed it off and sighed "I should have told you' I'm really very sorry" he added. Arohi looked into his eyes and saw guilt in it. "Are you okay?" Arjun asked when she didn't say anything. Arohi held his hand which was still on her cheek; she nodded her head and smiled assuring him that she's fine now. Arjun tighten the grip on her hand and tried to smile back. He felt really bad for making her go through this. He mentally made a note to buy her a mobile phone. "Come" he said and they walked towards the food court. He didn't leave her hand even for a second and this assured both of them that the other is their side. He gave her a glass of water and they sat silently. Arjun gave her some time so that she can compose herself. He looked around and saw a person having chole bhature. A smile came on his face as he remembered the incident in the mall where he had seen Arohi for the first time, when they had bumped into each other and he had chole all over his clothes. He laughed slightly and Arohi looked up when she heard him laugh. 'Why is he laughing?' she thought and knitted her eyebrows. Arjun looked at Arohi's face and answered the question which was there in her mind "I remembered the incident in the mall where we had met or rather say we had bumped into each other and I had chole all over my clothes" Arjun said laughing at the memory. Arohi got a flash of that incident and couldn't help but chuckle. She remembered that she was so embarrassed at that time. Her face fell suddenly when she remembered the talk with her father about her marriage after she had come back from the small the similar day. She shook her head trying to remove the bad memory.
Arjun had noticed the change in color of her face and her shaking her head. He was curious about what she was thinking that her face fell but he didn't ask her and thought to lighten up the atmosphere. He remembered about something and spoke "Oh! I forgot to tell you that Jai had called up. My friends wanted to meet you so he was asking if we can go out for a dinner with them tonight" Arohi smiled and nodded her head "We should go" she said. Arjun smiled back and said "I'll message Jai and tell him that we are coming." He was very excited to meet his friends after a long time and the excitement didn't go unnoticed by Arohi; she smiled at his excitement. Even she was looking forward to meet them Archana had spoken a lot about them when they were in Chandigarh. They sat there for few more minutes and then left for their home.

Arjun gave the keys for valet parking and then they walked towards Jai and Archana who were waiting for them near the reception. Archana came forward and hugged Arohi. "Welcome to Mumbai" she said to Arohi. Arohi smiled back at Archana. Jai first gave a hug to Arjun and then shook hands with Arohi. "Everyone's waiting inside lets go" said Jai and they started walking towards the restaurant. A small girl of about four years came running towards them. "Chachu" Arohi heard the little girl say and saw Arjun picking the girl in his arms. "Hello sweetheart" Arjun said plating a kiss on the girl's cheek. The girl kissed Arjun back on his cheek. Arohi looked at them and smiled. Two more people came forward with a little baby of about ten months. Arjun put the girl down and introduced them to Arohi. "Arohi this is Rajvir" Arjun said pointing towards the man and then continued "He's Jai's elder brother and was also our senior in the school. Aur isne senior hone ka pura fayda uthaya. He along with his friends used to irritate us a lot" Everyone started laughing and Rajvir shook hands with Arohi and said to Arjun "You could have given a better introduction" and punched on Arjun's arm. "I didn't mention that you would make us do your homework" Arjun said giving a high five to Jai. "Thanks for that" Rajvir said sarcastically. "You are welcome" Arjun said and then pointed towards the lady standing besides Rajvir "She's Rashi, Rajvir's wife and she's like my elder sister" Rashi hugged Arohi warmly. "She's Tanvi, Rajvir's and Rashi's daughter" Arjun introduced the little girl who was busy playing with her Barbie doll but looked up and smiled at Arohi when she heard her name. She asked Arohi to bend down and then she kissed Arohi on her cheek "Hi Chachi" she said and Arohi's cheek's flushed when she heard Tanvi call her chachi, she immediately composed herself and Arjun continued with the introduction. "And this little man out there is Chirag their son" Arjun said taking Chirag from Rajvir arms. He tossed Chirag in the air, catching him back in time while the little boy giggled. They then walked towards their table and sat.
Arohi moved her hand forward to take Chirag from Arjun's arms. She had always liked small kids. Arjun gently handed Chirag to Arohi and saw him looking at Arohi curiously. Arohi made Chirag sit in her lap and smiled at him but Chirag was just staring at her face because it was new to him. He suddenly giggled making both Arjun and Arohi chuckle. He then patted Arjun's arm with his chubby hand and then pointed his finger to Arohi like he was showing Arohi to Arjun. Arjun bend a little towards Chirag and said "She's you Chachi." Chirag made a baby sound and then patted Arjun's cheek while Arohi's cheek turned a shade of pink again hearing the word Chachi. Arjun first kissed Chirag's chubby little hands and then gave a gentle kiss on his cheek. And Arohi was smiling at them, she was silently seeing their interaction.
"Where's Dhruv?" asked Arjun when he noticed that he was still not here. "Think of the devil and the devil appears" said Jai when he saw Dhruv walking towards them. "Sorry I'm late" said Dhruv apologizing to everyone and taking a seat next to Arjun. "You are always late" Jai said and sounded irritated "And you are always ready to fight with me" said Dhruv and then added "By the way I heard that devil thing which you said" "Good for you, you should know that you are a devil" snapped Jai. "And here they start" said Arjun in a low voice that only Arohi could hear who was holding Chirag in her arms and was looking at the two men with wide eyes. Arohi looked at Arjun curiously and Arjun continued "They are always like this fighting with each other; they cannot bear each other's site." Jai and Dhurv finally stopped arguing when Rashi spoke "Okay now enough you two. I don't want you both to create a scene here and this is the last fight of tonight" Rashi gave them a warning and they both nodded their heads like a kid. "Arohi don't mind them they are like this only" Rashi said and Arohi glanced at both Jai and Dhruv and smiled "By the way he's Dhruv, he's Arjun's best friend and his personal assistant. He knows Arjun in and out. If you want to know anything about Arjun you should go to Dhruv" Rajvir introduced Dhruv to Arohi. Dhruv said a hello and forward his hand towards Arohi for a handshake. Arohi held Chirag with one hand and then shook hands with him and smiled.
Dhruv pulled Arjun from his arm and asked "Dude your house was empty, how did you manage?" Arjun turned his face to look at Arohi, Dhurv was a bit loud and Arjun was sure that Arohi had heard him. And he was right Arohi had heard Dhruv say that. She looked down and bit her lower lip trying not to smile but Arjun had already seen her lip curve for a second. He looked back at Dhruv and said "Can you please lower your voice? It's too loud and you could have reminded me about my empty house a little earlier." Dhruv gave him a look "You know you have been giving me shocks since the day you spoke to me about your Dad asking you to get married. That day you said that you'll think about getting married then after few days I get a call from you and you say that you are getting engaged, then again I get a call and you say you are getting married and now all of a sudden you come back to Mumbai then what am I suppose to do? And I had already told you before that hire an interior designer but you didn't listen to me" Dhruv said shrugging his shoulders. "I had to come back all of a sudden because you were out of town and there was not an option well forget it and don't worry about the house. It's all good now" Arjun said with a smirk and then joined the others who were chatting with Arohi.
Arohi instantly became comfortable with everyone especially Rashi and Archana. She was comfortable with Archana from the day they had met. All of them were very nice and very friendly. They included Arohi in their talks as if they have known her from before. They were always pulling each other's legs or would crack up a joke making Arohi laugh. On the other hand Arjun was really happy to see Arohi comfortable with his friends. He had known from before that she'll like them and he was also sure that his friends would not let her feel uncomfortable. Arjun had noticed Arohi enjoying the leg pulling and the jokes which were told by his friends. And for the first time Arjun had seen Arohi laughing and he was left staring at her face. He mentally thanked his friends for this. 'She looks really beautiful when she laughs' thought Arjun. He had seen her smiling but had never seen her laughing... Arjun's friend liked Arohi the moment they met her. She had instantly became friends with them and they were happy for Arjun to have Arohi in his life. They all had seen him staying alone and how he craved for love and now that Arohi have come they hoped that he gets that love. They were always tensed about Arjun but not anymore. They had already seen a good change in Arjun and were really happy for that. They silently prayed to God for both their happiness.

Arjun looked sideways at Arohi who was looking out of the window a small smile playing on her lips. They were now going back home after the wonderful dinner with his friends, actually their friends now. "Tired?" Arjun asked Arohi. Arohi looked at Arjun and then shook her head "No" she said. "Umm so you wanna go for a walk?" Arjun asked. Arohi nodded her head and said "Sure." Arjun nodded his head and parked the car at the side near the sea. He came out and opened the door for Arohi he then helped Arohi climb the side walk by giving her his hand for support which Arohi took without any hesitation. They stood there for few minutes and started walking on the side walk. Cool breeze blowing all the while and sounds of waved could be heard. "So you enjoyed?" asked Arjun trying to make a conversation. "Yeah, your friends are really nice" said Arohi. "They are even your friends now" said Arjun and then added "They really like you" "I'm glad that they like me" said Arohi feeling happy about the fact. Arjun smiled and thought 'Who wouldn't like you?'
"Tell me more about them" said Arohi. Arjun nodded his head and started "Let's start with Rajvir, he's like a big brother in our group always ready to protect us. He used to irritate me and Jai in school but would always protect us from the punishments. If we would do any mistake he would come forward and take the blame on himself always like a big brother and would say that only he has the right to punish us. No one would ever dare to irritate us because they knew Rajvir will not leave them" Arjun laughed and Arohi smiled. "Jai, he's the best friend a person can have, like they say 'A friend in need is a friend indeed' he exactly that kind of a person. He's always there to support me, always ready to give a shoulder to cry. He's like my strength; if he's there by my side I can fight any fight. I can face any problem in life." Arjun wiped the tear from the corner of his eye not wanting Arohi to see that but Arohi had already seen and could see how emotionally Arjun was attached to Jai. "Dhruv, I met Dhruv when I came to Mumbai, he's like my advisor. Whenever I cannot think of anything or I need any advice I go to him. He's a fun loving person, he can make everyone laugh with doing stupid things or by cracking stupid jokes. He's also a trouble maker." Arjun shook his head and laughed. "And then Rashi and Archana, they both are like my sisters. Both are very sweet, very nice always worried about all of us. Always saying us that we should not do this or we should not do that. Sometimes it's irritating but we know that they care for us." he sighed and then continued "They all are part of my Life, they are my family including you." Arjun said to which Arohi smiled she felt happy to know that she was part of his family but there was something which was disturbing her. When he mentioned his family he didn't include his parents and Neev. Aren't they a part of his family. She guessed that Arjun had some problems with his family she had seen how formal he was with his father and even with Neev completely different from the way he spoke to his friends. And she had never seen him talking to his mother. She came out of the thoughts when she heard Arjun say "They have always been there with me like a friend should be but I think I'm not a good friend, I don't think I have ever been a nice friend" there was an awkward silence between them. Arohi looked at Arjun who was looking straight, various emotions playing on his face, she wanted to say something but she didn't know what to tell.
"Tell me about your friends" said Arjun to Arohi. Arohi looked at Arjun and her face fell he looked away and spoke after few seconds "I never had any friends. Salil Bhai and Purvi Bhabhi were my only friend" Arjun saw the sadness on her face so he didn't ask her further. They reached back to their car. Arjun opened the passenger door for Arohi and Arohi sat down. Then he sat on the driver's seat and left for their house. The drive at home was silent no one spoke anything.
Arjun opened the main door of their house and they directly went to their respective room. "Arjun?" Arohi said just before entering her room and turned around to face Arjun. Arjun turned to look at Arohi when he heard her say his name.
