credits:DNA INDIA Actress Freida Pinto joins the elite list of Hollywood actors such as Antonio Banderas, Jake Gyllenhaal, Salma Hayek, Nicole Kidman, Melissa Mccarthy, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman who are set to present at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards this year. The Slumdog Millionaire star's name was announced through a press release by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).According to officials, Freida, who'll be walking the red carpet too, is the only one on the list, who has not been nominated in any category. Her second outing as a presenter at the Globes also makes her the only Indian actor to be repeated again for the same. The first time, she presented the award, her film Slumdog Millionnaire was among the nominated. She was accompanied by Bolly actor Shah Rukh Khan. "Antonio Banderas (1997, 1999 and 2004 Golden Globe nominee), Jake Gyllenhaal (2011 Golden Globe nominee), Salma Hayek (2003 Golden Globe nominee), Nicole Kidman (1996, 2002 and 2003 Golden Globe winner; 1992, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2011 Golden Globe nominee), Clive Owen (2005 Golden Globe winner), Melissa McCarthy, Freida Pinto and Natalie Portman (2005 and 2011 Golden Globe winner; 2000 Golden Globe nominee) are set to present at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 15, 2012, with host Ricky Gervais," said the statement. Dr Aida Takla-O'Reilly, the president of HFPA welcomed the stars including Pinto saying, "We are thrilled to have these talented individuals join us. Each will bring something very special to this year's show!" |
