I hate the daily format: Mohnish Behl

Mohnish Behl, the talented actor has been applauded for his histronics as a doctor in 'Sanjeevani', 'Dill Mil Gaye' and now 'Kuch ToH Log Kahenge'. Mohnish loves these shows, but hates the daily format on television. The actor thinks that he would've liked it better had his shows followed a weekly format.

Ask the actor about his hatred for daily formats, he promptly says, "I hate the daily show format. I always wanted my shows to be based on a weekly format. I feel this because in a daily format how much will people see? The writers give the same old dialogues and stories. There is a saturation point in a daily show, but sometimes the writers go beyond the saturation point."

Mohnish adds, "I have seen the television medium going downwards. For the channels, the ratings are a big concern, but sometimes they show senseless things. I mean, I also believe in the formula of TRPs, but through sensible programming. I feel getting TRPs is a team work and that needs to be done with the right kind of content."

Mohnish is playing Dr Ashutosh in 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge', he is happy with the show, but hates its timeslot (the show is aired at 8pm). The actor divulges, "I didn't want this show to be aired at 8 pm. This show, according to me, should get a later slot of 9.30 pm or something. It needs a lot of engagement from the viewers as it has a different storyline. The viewers need a piece of mind to understand this love story between a 20 year old girl and a 40 year old man."

It's time for Mohnish to understand that daily format is the money maker for channels and they cannot afford to lose it.
