ONE mindset about a star or movie, RESTRICTIVE?!

😕😆 This is a question I am having difficulty with and overcoming it could be actually easy or self-induced! I have one mindset about SRK especially and is it restricting my ability from enjoying his films in the current time? I saw Don 2 again and today, my friend who is non-Indian claimed SRK is a decent actor and the movie was good. On the other hand I did like Don 2, but not SRK's performance. Is this a perfect example of having one MINDSET? Why am I restricting myself from enjoying SRK's acting? I know he is a good actor, but a huge disappointment in the past has turned me off from him! 😭 And I am sure all of us have one MINDSET about a star or movie, is it restricting or hindering our ability from enjoying the moment? And have any of you had a situation where this has occurred? Like a Bebo fan has one MINDSET that Aish fans and films are bad. Is it restricting them from enjoying the Aish film? Or a Priyanka fan hates Bebo films and one MINDSET that everything is bad?

I agree. I have that one mindset about Katrina, Imran, Deepika, Sonam etc that they all suck (they do suck a lot 😆) but really, they can be decent in their movies. I mean, Katrina may have sucked in her other movies but she surprised me in Rajneeti and ZNMD. She was really cute. Deepika was really cute in LAK but that still hasnt changed my opinion about them 😆

One mindset is definitely restrictive but it's natural, sometimes we have no choice BUT to think that way about certain actors who wash, rinse & repeat the same rubbish.

oh of course! i can't fully enjoy/appreciate salman/sharukh or aishwariya/katrina because of my own mindset i put when i was like 10!lol

It's restrictive but totally natural. Some people just rub you the wrong way and that's all there is to it. Can't like everybody, nor should you.

Thats right...once you form your biases they stick with you. But personally biases havent stopped me from liking the work of stars I do not like.

I think except die hard fans almost everyone else is flexible in their thinking, at least i am. I tend to dislike actors who are very overexposed at that time, i can change my mind about them later but yes too much overexposure in media is not a good thing. A good movie or a performance can change my mind about an actor even if i don't like them.
