Being the runner up is better in MasterChef?

I didn't watch all the episodes, except a very few in this season. I just finished watching finale and I think the runner ups in Master Chef got a better reward by getting a job in Leela Kempinski (MasterChef 1) and Renaissance Mumbai (Master Chef 2), instead of one-time 1crore. Of course winning the title has its own charm and benefits though.

I wonder why Shazia didn't get the job, unlike in season one where Jaya got the job, who was in second position. Is it because she is already an established businesswoman, and she is not looking forward to being a full time chef? Not sure what her business is about, and Joseph wanted to be a Chef, and if they are keeping these things in mind, then it is really good too (for runner ups).

Shazia is a home maker and actively involved in her husband's business. He runs schools in Bangalore and she manages the administration, and also provides education for under privileged kids.

Oh, good to know that. Seems like she is a kind hearted person -providing education for under-privileged kids, and also shared her prize money with her friends.

Shazia might have not wanted a job. She already has a business. She might want to start her own food business in the future for which the sum of 1 cr would be very useful. Hosting her own cookery show and having her own cookbook would be a big plus too.
In comparision professional cooks really need to slop it out in the kitchen. Its easier for men to do so.
