Two indie directors who aren't Bollywood sellouts. Kashyap hit jackpot with Dev D. In 2012, he will be directing Gangs of Wasseypur and producing Aiyaa.

Kashyap has a knack for spotting new talent: from directors Raj Kumar Gupta, Bejoy Nambiar and Sanjay Singh to music director Amit Trivedi and actors Kalki Koechlin and Rajeev Khandelwal.

Banerjee, unlike typical Bollywood directors, makes slice-of-life movies - simple stories, simply told. In January, he will be out with Shanghai. After LSD, India's first film on digicam, any film Banerjee makes is to watch out for.
