Part Twenty- Three

Udayveer awakened earlier since he wasn't used to sleeping much anyway. He looked over at the other side of the bed. He gazed over at her sleeping form in amazement. He used to wonder how it would feel to have her beside him when he awakened. He gave her one longing glance before he went to go workout. He did forty-five minutes. As he worked out he recalled their wedding and the events from the night before. He had not felt content in life before, but this morning he felt far more than content. He had his jungle queen, he had possibly tamed her and she made him a human being at the same time.

He finished his workout. Unnati was surprised to see him up early.

" Dada aap yahaan? I thought you would be with Bhabhi. It is your first day as a married couple and it's her birthday," Unnati quipped.

Udayveer smiled.

" I'll go wake her up now. She has to be at her maayka for pug phera in a few hours. Is her dress here? I am sure that will give her incentive to wake up," Udayveer replied.

Unnati shook her head.

"I will bring it over after she gets up."

"Theek hai Unnati. I want her favorite breakfast made today. We will eat together after an hour," he said.

Unnati nodded in affirmation.

He walked back into the bedroom and smirked at his still sleeping wife She looked very cute and childlike in her sleep. He leaned over her. She muttered something colorful under her breath.

She opened her eyes slowly. She looked at him wide eyed.

" Tum yahaan kyun ho?," she exclaimed.

He chuckled.

" Ab aap humari biwi hai aur hum aap ke pati," he said softly.

She must have forgotten in her slumber that they got married yesterday. She looked around more and realized she was no longer in her room at the palace. She was in a different room and Udayveer had never been so close to her before. She noticed some sweat on his face and chest.

He smiled realizing she was checking him out.

"Princess you like what you see?," he asked.

She frowned and turned around to pull the blanket over her face. He removed it .

" Happy Birthday Manyata," he whispered.

She looked at him and smiled for a moment.

Suddenly she threw the rest of the blanket off of herself.

" I have to get ready for the pug phera," she exclaimed.

" Take your time. I am going to take a quick shower first. You can pick out our outfit," he quipped.

She eyed him as he simply got up and walked away from her as if nothing had happened between them. She shook her head. There was a knock on the door. She grabbed her robe and wrapped it around herself and went to open the door.

She smiled when she saw it was Unnati.

" Happy Birthday Bhabhi!," she exclaimed. The girls hugged and Unnati presented her with a package.

" This is your dress for today. I hope you like it. Dada and I picked it out for your special day." Unnati whispered.

Manyata smiled brightly.

" Aap ready hojayeji. We will we waiting for you," Unnati said.

Manyata closed the door. She placed the dress on the bed. A few minutes later, Udayveer emerged from the bathroom.

She looked at the ground as she passed him. He smirked at her as she passed by.

She quickly showered and got slipped on her dress. The zipper wouldn't go up all the way. She groaned, thinking she would be late for breakfast her first day there. Suddenly she felt someone nearby. Thinking it was Unnati, she moved her hair to the side, exposing her issue with the zipper.

She felt warm breath on her neck. Then she felt goosebumps as strong firm fingers pulled her zipped up.

She turned around to see Udayveer. She looked at him stunned.

"Ready maharani?," he asked.

She nodded.

He offered her his arm, she slipped hers through his.

"Thanks," she whispered.

"Anytime princess," he quipped.

After breakfast, Manyata got ready to go to the Rajmahal. Komal greeted Manyata when she arrived at the rajmahal,

" Happy Birthday beta! God bless you beta," Komal said.

Manyata smiled and took her blessings. She went with her mother to meet with Dadisa at the mandir. Manyara took blessings from the deities and prayed before taking blessings from Dadisa. She went hesitating to meet her father. He was stern but he wished her nicely. J Nandini teased her as they all gathered in the hall to wait for Udayveer and his family to come for the reception. Manyata wore a cream colored Indo-western outfit for the affair.

When Udayveer arrived J Nandini was curious about something.

"Udayveer does Manyata snore and walk in her sleep," she inquired.

Udayveer smirked and exchanged glances with his new bride. He realized that's how Manyata got back at her sister for her antics in her early days in the rajmahal.

" Actually she was fine last night, I heard no snoring nor did sleepwalk," Udayveer quipped.

J Nandini pouted.

" She even sang when she shared a room with me, as she was sleepwalking," J Nandini stated.

Manyata tried not to show any expression, soon J Nandini was chasing her around the palace.

" You did all that nautanki with me?," J Nandini exclaimed.

Manyata ran around for sometime before she reached other corridor. Suddenly someone pulled her into an enclave. She looked up into Udayveer's eyes.i

"I didn't need you to save me," she hissed. He ran a finger along her face.

" I just wanted more time with my new bride. Is that a crime?," he inquired.

They heard footsteps in the distance. She stepped away from him but he pulled her back again.

He looked her up and down and smirked.

She crossed her arms.

"Kya dek re ho?," she asked.

"Hum yeh dekre hain ki aap kitni sundar lagri hain iss roop mein," he quipped.

She shook her head.

"Aisa lagta hain ki aap muhje pehle barr milre hain," she quipped.

" You are always a breath of fresh air Manyata. Remember tonight we leave for Goa and then we are off to London," he stated.

"Haan yeh sab mujhe pata hai," she said.

" Your lessons on love will be continuing," he hissed.

She gave him a solemn look and slipped away before he could hold her back.

The reception went well. They greeted the guests and posed for pictures together. They danced to a slow song after dinner was served. Manyata never thought it would come to this. She had tried for months to evade Udayveer and accepting herself as a royal. But today she found herself the heiress of one kingdom and the future queen of another. Most of all was shocking was the fact, how well Udayveer was treating her in the first twenty-four hours of their marriage. She composed herself telling herself this was only day one Would he treat her any different when they reached Goa or even when they reached London?

She decided she would cross the bridge when she came to it. For now she would be wary of the circumstances.
