I have been following the terribly tragic Rahul Mahajan episode cover-to-cover; there's no escaping it. I'm not a staunch BJP follower, but watching the unfortunate saga of a man who was caught in drug abuse hours before he was supposed to immerse his father's ashes was quite disturbing. It got me thinking about the social milieu of the upper class, the influential set. I can't fathom such behaviour, but my heartfelt sympathy goes out to his mom.
The other piece of news that ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous is the ban on Fanaa in Gujarat. On the one hand, there's Aamir Khan going all out for the rehabilitation of the displaced, and on the other, there's the Gujarat government. Far from lauding the man, they've taken an extreme step that can be termed nothing but bizarre.
