mura's is mentioned in mudrarakshasa and puranas, historians most probably disagree that his mother's name was mura.they think that his name maurya was from a republican clan, moriya of pipalihalivana.this is mentioned in mahabodhivansh sutta and mahavansh.i am lucy not lucky if you are referring to me.

ok here it is,dhanananda had totally same situation as gaddaffi, internally his power was snatched by cgm by war and then they made dhanananda to leave magadha but after that on his way his people killed him.durdhara never liked cgm,she never wanted to marry him.her loving him is purely fiction.cgm also never liked her,but she was forcefully married to him for two reasons.1-people at that time accepted royal families as their ruler so it was a necessity for cgm to marry durdhara2-chankaya wanted a baby who could succeed cgm
This thing strikes me as well. If Durdhara was DN's daughter, why would she voluntarily marry CGM, of all people? Once the Nandas were wiped out, it was just a case of seizing power. Either she was not DN's daughter, or she did not marry CGM.As it is, CGM later married the daughter of Selukus, which would have been more prestigious since she was the daughter of a previously undefeated warrior. So there wouldn't have been a need for it. What's more likely is that she was unrelated to Dhanananda, but Chanakya fabricated claims of her being DN's daughter to gain legitimacy for CGM.As an aside, I honestly don't believe much of the stories written by Indian historians about CGM, since most of them had a vested interest in inflating Chanakya's role, since they were Brahmin historians trying to retain power @ a time that people were drifting towards Buddhism & Jainism. Greek accounts of CGM seem much more objective, and give him more due recognition of his achievements.
