Amar is not spineless but his problem is he lacks the wit to respond to a situation. He even acts stupid at times. Events during past few episodes brought me to this conclusion:
1) He was absolutely dumbfounded when the loud mouthed Chamanlal Sehgal came after him (Sky/Amar/Mehak contro). Some of you may say that Amar was maintaining a dignified silence - but the fact of the matter is Amar went and apologized to Sky... meaning he had nothing to say in his defense.
2) Sid rightfully pointed out (two days ago) that Amar shows nervousness when Sky & group attacks him. He even advised Amar to stay calm for few seconds, gather thoughts and respond. Amar simply brused off the advice.
3) Sid was wishing Merry Christmas to everyone through Camera. Amar realized he needed to do that too, barged in, started wishing everyone in a random order and walked off. He should have been polite, let Sid finish and then wished everybody. Sid was left stunned and speechless by this act.
4) Sunny/Juhis allegations were very serious. Amar and everyone knew that Amar did no wrong. Yet he never told Sky to not get involved in this issue. Amar should have approached Sunny ahd Juhi and made his view point clear (atleast for the camera).
There are lot more instances where Amar was short of words and many including myself mistook this to his politeness. But I realized his wit leaves him during stressful times especially against the Sky group. He did do well during the Pooja Mishra bangle incident but those days seem long gone now.
Amar does have a huge fan following and can still win if he plays his cards right. For whatever reasons, he has come across as the most dignified member this season.
For now, Sid seems to be the most deserving candidate. Though some rumors in the Twitter world seem to indicate that he would be out this week.
