One of my favourite all-time classic novels is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen where the protaganists Darcy and Lizzy Bennet exhibit traits of pride and prejudice respectively. In D3, these traits are very visible in the female protaganists of Sharon and Kria. Sharon, being the daughter of a rich man exhibits pride in her status and wealth. It does not help that her friends, despite being well-intentioned encourage this false pride. Friendship is about telling a person they are wrong even if it means that your friend gets upset with you. The person who has lost out most on account of this pride is Sharon herself.

Kria on the other hand characterised prejudice where she thought that every Dazzler represented all things wrong in her life. She couldn't get past her prejudice for the longest time to even comprehend that Rey had nothing but good wishes for her. Thankfully for Kria, that phase seems to be over to a large extent and it definitely has made her a happier person.

I fully expect Sharon to get over her pride soon,

I also would like to see some female bonding on this show.As someone already mentioned, why are the female friendships on this show portrayed so superficially, after all 90% of D3 viewers are female and we know that despite having good male friends, we can never replace sisterhood with our friendship with the male sex.

I am sorry if this sounds like an essay😆 I was very bored and decided I would make a topic.

Hey, well put! I love the novel, and your reading of Sharon and Kriya as analogous to Pride and Prejudice is so accurate! I agree, Kriya needed to get over her prejudice, and it's great to see her already doing it. It took Elizabeth a trip to Pemberley, but I'm very happy to see that in D3's case, Darcy was good enough in himself to convince her of her misconception.

As for Sharon...Pride there is. And like you said, she's lost a lot because of it. But at this point, she's standing at the edge of the biggest loss of all. If she loses Swayam, she loses her one chance at any real happiness in her life. I hope she gets her head on straight in good time, and understands the value of love over and above her Pride in superficial Diva-ness.

Oh, and I SO agree with your point on female bonding. The D3 boys are SO great together, that it's actually really sad how the girls are just stuck in so much petty bickering. I loved the sequence where Sharon had stood up for Kriya in the canteen, for instance. There was a real spark there, if only they'd care to build on it. 😳
