I think here both Shonali and Amar deserve the benefit of the doubt.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, Shonali is not assertive. She is so airheaded that it is hard to take her seriously. She does not articulate well how and why something bothers her. She is very non confrontational as well. A lot of times she plays along. Her non confrontational nature makes her be friendly with Amar after the incidents as well. Even though I think she was expressing a very genuine concern she had, her personality makes it very difficult for people to believe her.

Moreover she is not giving Amar a clear assertion that he crossed the line. A lot of guys are flirtatious. Many don't mean to cross the line or make people uncomfortable. But guys can be bullish as well. They don't understand subtle signals, they need to be told extremely clearly what they are doing wrong. If a guy makes you uncomfortable but then you immediately start being friendly as well, it sends mixed signals. The common assumption is that if a girl is friendly, she isn't really bothered as much by you.

Playing it safe, avoiding conflict has its place, but Sho-Sho needs to realize that some things need to be expressed very assertively without mixed signals. You don't need to yell and scream like Sky or Sid, nor do you need to completely cut of friendly communication. You can still be amicable while saying clearly "Hey, I don't like it when you do such and such and you ought to stop it". This way you get your point across, the other person gets clearly what they are doing wrong, and no one thinks you are a flake.

I am not saying shonali did not lie ...but that whole discussion did not prove anything. May be shonali lied who knows? or may be she didnt !
