Is it just me, or have any of you noticed that the judges are more impressed when a contestant makes a dish that is more international in flavour?
Right now, I can only recall Shaizad's starter made from Banana stem which wowed the judges for being very international in flavour. But Puneet's complex innovation of veg Shikampurs did not help him stay in the race. (Let's keep aside the twin facts of Puneet's mistake of breadcrumbs added to hot mixture & Shaizad's wafer-thin-and-not-completely-crisp canapes base.)
Does this mean that Indian flavours are not so interesting? Also the judges keep emphasizing about the int. flavour in dishes in earlier episodes.
And if you recall any other incident of int. flavours getting importance, do add them here. It'll make for an interesting discussion.
