Thank you all for encouraging me to write this. This is my first attempt. Hope you like it, at least as a pastime for the boring weekend without IPKKND. The fiction has been names Poolside Love because everything happens by the poolside for these two đ

PART 1
Arnav: Khushi...Khushi...please tell me what is wrong. Did he hurt you? If he did, I will...(his hazel eyes burned bright with anger).
Khushi had a flashback of how he nearly killed the goon during the Nanital trip. Oh God, she couldn't imagine what he would do if he found out about Shyamji having hurt both her and Anjali...
Khushi: Kuch nahi. (She sniffed) I should go now.
She quickly made her way from the poolside across to his bedroom. Arnav followed and pulled her around.
Arnav: Khushi please. I can see that you are clearly disturbed. Please tell me what it wrong. I can't bear to see you like this. I...I...I can't see you cry!
Khushi couldn't tell who was more shocked by this admission. They both avoided eye contact for a while (of course Rabba Ve was playing in the background) but then Arnav persisted.
Arnav: Khushi, you tell me or else I will ask your family.
Khushi: No! I mean...no, there's no need for that. I was...I was just having an argument with my fiance that's all.
Arnav: That's all!? How DARE he hurt your feelings like this? What did he say? Tell me and I will take care of him.
Khushi: There is no need for that Arnavji. Please, I need to go now.
She sprinted out of the room before he could question her more. Devi Maiyya, she didn't know what to do! If she told Arnavji, he would be hurt beyond measure because if there is anyone he cares about it is his sister. Speaking of which, Jiji's shaadi would be impossible if this story broke in the household. But then...it won't be a secrect forever. Will they believe me when the truth comes out? Or will they believe another lie that Shamji would come up with...God! Arnavji will think I am a gold-digger again...no, he will believe me, he will...I know it, if I tell him later that I had just found out when I crashed into him today, he will take my side. Khushi didn't know where she was going and nearly collided with Anjaliji near the puja ghar.
Anjali: Khushiji, what happened, why do you look so upset?
Khushi: No, nothing Anjaliji, I had to go home.
Anjali: Wait though, before you go I want to introduce you to my husband. (She pulled a shocked and alert looking Shyamji toward Khushi). You had gone to call him and now he's here himself. This is my husband, Shyam Jha, the world's best husband (with that she put her head on this shoulder lovingly).
Shyam pleaded with his eyes at Khushi, but it was not for him that she stayed quiet. She was quiet for Anjaliji's sake, for her Jiji's sake, and most of all, for that man's sake to whom his sister's happiness meant everything. She would endure this, as long as she had to, for the sake of everyone's happiness and then...she will teach Shyamji a lesson. But she couldn't break off the engagement just yet, Buaji would create a riot in the household and everyone might question her in the eve of her sister's wedding. No, she would keep quiet.
Khushi: Namaste.
Shyam quietly raised his hand too: It is good to finally meet you Khushiji.
Khushi said nothing to him: Okay Anjaliji, if I have your permission, I would really like to be home now. Babuji is alone at home.
Anjali: Oh yes Khushiji, I did not realize. Please go. Let us not hold you up. And please give him our regards.
Khushi smiled and left, but not before she caught a glimpse of Arnav's concerned face looking down from the second floor.
Arnav paced his room like a caged tiger. Wonder what was wrong between Khushi and her fiance that she didn't think he could hear! What is so private anyway? It's not like they even know each other for that long. Isn't he the new paying guest? Oh...well, they do live in the same house. He probably gets to see her more often than I do...(the thought depressed him).
Anways, what does that matter? I need to know what he has done to hurt her. And I will find out come what may, Arnav promised himself. He picked up the phone and called Aman.
Arnav: I have an unusual task for you, Aman. Find out which law office Khushi Kumari Gupta's fiance works at.
At her home...
In the hustle and bustle of the wedding preparations, Khushi felt lost, so she went first to Babuji rather than answer Payal's question about which dupatta is better. She went in and closed the door.
Khushi: Babuji, I know now. I understand what you were trying to tell me. I know the truth about Shyamji. You didn't want this engagement, right? That was all Buaji's misunderstanding.
Babuji's expression softened and a tear slipped his eye. He put a shaking hand on Khushi's. And sightly nodded his head no to tell her to stop crying.
Khushi: I know Babuji, I know. I will be strong and I will give him what he deserves. Just let this shaadi happen and I will teach him a lesson! He has betrayed me, he has betrayed us all and he has betrayed the Raizada khandan.
At Arnav's house...
Anjali approached Arnav: Oh God, I forgot to ask Khushiji to come for your Sherwani selection tomorrow.
Arnav snapped around: What?
Anjali: Your sherwani, for the engagement.
Arnav: I won't be wearing a sherwani to Akash's engagement.
Anjali: Not for Akash's maybe, but for yours you have to, right? Don't forget it is on the same day Chotte!
It was as if a knife sliced through Arnav's heart. He had forgotten all about his engagement in the planning of Akash's wedding. That Khushi's crying and what not. God...what had he gotten himself into? Things were getting more complicated by the day.
Anjali: I will call Khushiji now and ask if she can come to the mall with us tomorrow.
Arnav: No!
Anjali: What? Why no? She is in charge of all the engagement preparations.
Arnav: No, she is already under a lot of pressure. Leave her alone. She won't be taking care of the engagement preparations anymore. She has enough to deal with.
Anjali looked suspiciously: Did you two fight again...?
Arnav got frustrated: No Di! I mean to say, it's her di's engagement too, she must be busy at her home. Let her do her part there. We will manage here.
Anjali: Chotte...are you okay? Since where are you so considerate about other people's priorities...huh?
Arnav: Di please.
He stormed out. Oh God, he didn't want to get married. What had he done!? He is not ready for an engagement with Lavanya when Khushi is going through all these problems with her fiance. Wait. No, what does that have to do with his engagement? He doesn't want to get married, period.
OK, this is the end for now. If I get enough feedback, I will write another before Monday's episode. So please leave your comments đ
