okay..so ermm..finally decided to start a SS. This is the first time I'm writing one, and main pehle si hi keh rahi hoon, there are 7 parts so you'll have to sit through them all. 😆😳

'One week, Mr. Virat Vadhera,' said Maanvi, putting her hands on her hips. 'One week to find a job.'
'Whaaa-at?' he said, his jaw dropping open. The girl wasn't married to him yet, and she was already throwing so many tantrums!
'Of course. When my friends at Rishikesh ask me what you do, I can't tell them you lie at home and irritate me,' she said rolling her eyes.
'Excusee mee,' he said annoyed by the fact that she had just pointed out what a loafer he was, 'but why can't you find a job?'
She gasped. 'Biwi se kaam karwaaoge? Shame on you! And anyway, you didn't think so much of liberating me when you told everyone that you wanted to marry me.'
Virat closed his eyes, and gritted his teeth in frustration. Yes, he had done the unthinkable. He had himself asked for the Bandariya's hand in marriage. After the amount of fuss Beeji had created, he would have thought he could take back his decision, but it was too late. Everyone had agreed-and neither the to-be bride or the groom were too happy about it.
Beeji had come to the Vadhera house one week earlier, to bring them the news of the fact that Maanvi had been detected with a brain tumor. It could be operable, but that was the point-everything was on shaky ground. However, she had refused all help from the Vadheras' side, leaving Virat no option but to propose-no way-but yes, propose to the sherni in front of everyone.
He had done it for his Jeevika bhabhi of course, so that he could lessen her pain. But Maanvi had been furious at the idea of a couple of elders deciding what to do with her life, especially her marriage. And she was determined to break the rishta at any cost.
Which was why she had decided to use Virat's current state of unemployment as her weapon.
'You get a job, or else this marriage is not happening,' she said firmly, her eyes like a pair of laser beams. Virat felt like tearing his hair out. If the marriage did not happen, then his Jeevika bhabhi would die. She was already so excited at the thought of her Manoo being near her so that she could take care of her younger sister when she was so ill. As he looked at her, Virat hardly felt like she was supposed to be having a life-threatening disease however.
'Look, don't be silly okay? We've arranged everything for you right over here-the doctors, the equipment. Your Jeevika di needs to be at your side more than you need to be by hers. Our house has turned into some kind of mini-hospital and all you can think of is your babyish demands.'
'They're not babyish!' she said, her inner turmoil evident in her voice. 'And anyway, in about a month's time I'm about to go in for an operation. There's no need for this marriage really. You've trapped me Virat Vadhera, and you're going to pay for it.'
'Fine,' he yelled, 'I get the idea okay? I'll get a job if you want!' Having screamed his lungs out, he turned around and walked away, his heart secretly shattering as he heard the unmistakable sound of a stifled wail behind him.

Work on a construction site. Yeah, Soumini Bua would be thrilled about that. Start a business. Nope, that would take more than a week. Join a rock band. Out of the question.
Urggh! Since when had he become so useless? When he was a child, he had dreamed of becoming an astronaut, a pilot, what not. And now he was stuck in the dumps even for the most simple jobs. What was that Choudhrain's problem anyway? Why was she so interested in putting him to work?
But then, she also had a point in saying that it would be embarrassing when people asked her what her husband did. That was why Virat hated the ideas of love and marriage. Before you married someone, you were free to live your life the way you liked. After marriage, life was just an endless series of 'Okay darling, whatever you say...' Now that Maanvi was going to become Mrs. Vadhera, everything he did would affect her. He had trained himself to be immune to the taunts of society-but what about her? He doubted whether she had the capability of being tolerant when she was already struggling between life and death anyway.
For some reason, he regretted screaming at her. He knew that shouting at ill people wasn't exactly the best way to cure them, but what else could he do? He decided to go back again and explain in a gentle manner that it was impossible for him to ever consider finding a job. There had been a time when Virat had been full of dreams and ambition, but that time was long gone. Now he just wanted to spend time sleeping off all the sorrow he had gained over that period of his life.

'Maanvi?' he asked, fumbling around for the light switch in the darkness. He finally found it, and switched it on.
'Maanvi?' he called out again, then stopped as he saw her lying on the bed, with her face buried on the pillow. As he looked at her curled up in foetal position, her fingers burrowing into the bed sheet, he felt his heart constrict and send a lump rising up in his throat.
'Maanvi,' he said softly, reaching out to touch her face. He retracted his fingers back, as if he had been burned. Her skin was piping hot with fever, and suddenly, the felt like all the warmth from the room had vanished away into her body.
'Bhabhi!' he screamed, feeling the lump in his throat grow icy, and his fingers shake with horror as he turned her around and looked at her pale, unconscious face.

Virat stood in the corner, muttering random curses to himself, as the doctor finished checking Maanvi. 'She's all right now...I really think we should admit her as soon as possible. I don't think it's advisable to even keep her at home now.'
Virat saw the looks that flashed between Bua and Dadaji-We'll have to make the wedding arrangements as soon as possible.
Jeevika stood in a corner, silently sobbing as Viren put a comforting hand on her shoulder. Soon, everyone traipsed out and returned back to their rooms, leaving Maanvi alone so that she could rest.
Virat was about to go away too, but before he left, he couldn't resist sneaking a look at Maanvi. She was lying with her face turned away from his eyes, the sullen expression on her face proof of the fact that she hadn't forgiven him.
Virat sighed. Ab to mujhe naukri dhoondni hi padegi...
