great update but i feeo bad for amelia, she is an innocent child. her mother was a fool but how is that her fault 😭 anyways he is making an attempt to soften up towards her, thats a good place to start. do continue soon. thanks for the PM.

It's been a rollercoaster week regarding our beloved GHSP. Some people say it is ending with the confirmations on FB, others say channel hasn't confirmed it, on top of that we've had 2 articles about its ending in the same week 🤔

Personally, I'm not believing anything until the channel & one/both of the leads confirm it themselves. But just to let you guys know, even if it does end (heart breaks at the thought) then I will still continue to write fanfics.
Maan & Geet's legacy will survive through the stories.

Chapter 15 - Trying To Run

"Do not continue to run from me."

Maan grabbed Geet's frail arm & pulled her back, making her turn back to face him. His eyes were ablaze with fury.

"I asked you to stop.

"I don't want to stop. Let me go. Someone will come out to find us & see."

They were in the gardens just outside the house. From every window in the house, the front gardens were visible.

"I don't care who sees."

"Not even the Malhotras?"

"Why are you so irritated by them, Geet?"

"You must have failed to notice the way they treat me."

"I haven't. I detest their aversion to you, their behaviour towards you. It makes my blood boil."

"I am touched that you care," she said sarcastically, then attempted to break her arm free from his painful grip. "You're hurting me."

"Why are you dismissing my feelings?"

Geet turned away, not wanting to reply.

"Are you doing it to hurt me?" he asked, his nails clawing into her skin.

"You really are hurting me," she pleaded.

"Answer me. Are you being spiteful to hurt me? Geet?"

"Are you getting married to Sasha to hurt me? Are you continuously forcing an allegiance between you & her just to spite me? Congratulations, you have succeeded."

Maan's hard set straight line turned into a smirk so devastatingly handsome that Geet blinked once in awe, then looked away. She replayed her words in her mind, wondering what she must have said to Maan... then almost gasped as she realised.

"An indirect confession," he whispered. "You finally said what has been on your heart all this time. I already knew, I just needed to hear it."

"Let me go." She had blushed a crimson red, she needed to get away from him, away from everything.

"Impossible. I can never let you go now, not that you've-"

"Regardless of my feelings towards you, you are engaged & you must remember that."

"What about my feelings towards you?"

"How can I believe you now that you've claimed yourself to be hers?"

"I belong to no one but you. You belong to no one but me."

Geet gulped down the lump that had formed in her throat & rendered her breathless & stepped away from him once she felt his grip loosen. Her skin on her arm burnt with the painful sensation. Stepping away from him & brushing past him swiftly, she went back into the house & straight up to her room. He followed her, with nothing but love & determination in his eyes. He rushed up, then stopped himself, knowing she would do nothing but ask him to leave if he went now.

He would give her a few hours at least, until it was nightfall.

Geet sat on her bedside table, after having changed into her nightdress. The sole candle on her table flickered softly as she applied some medicine onto her skin which had been marked by Maan's painful grip on her earlier. His nail marks were visible, leaving his trace on her skin. She winced as the medicine burnt her arm at first, then cooled it.

Suddenly, the door burst open & clicked shut again too fast for Geet to comprehend what was going on. She stood up & turned around to find him stood there in a simple shirt which had been loosened at the hip & his usual black trousers. His waistcoat & blazer were gone, giving him a more casual, & dare Geet think it, and even more attractive look.

She averted her gaze away as his eyes burnt into her, then he glanced at her injured arm. The injuries which were caused by him. Geet realised she was in her nightdress & cringed - although it was modest & long, reaching down to her ankles, the neckline was far too wide than what she usually wore, & far too wide for her to stand in with a man present in the room. Especially Maan.

Geet turned to face away from him & ask him to leave when he walked up to her & turned her around to face him gently by her shoulders. He lifted her bruised arm up & eyed it solemnly. She saw the guilt flash across his face.

"I'm sorry," he said, looking at Geet intently, willing for her to look at him but her eyes were determined to observe the floor.

"Geet. Look at me," he pleaded, lifting his hand to raise her chin when she stepped away, bumping into the table.

Geet moved away from him, standing at the foot of her bed.

"Please, just leave," she whimpered. It sounded like she was crying, & Maan's heart broke at the fact that he had hurt her yet again, emotionally but this time physically too.

"I won't let you go now," he said as he stepped before her, & only then did he fully register what she was wearing. She looked like an ethereal beauty in white, almost ghostlike with her brown hair standing out against her pale skin. His eyes caressed over her face then went down to her long slender neck. The skin on her collarbone looked so soft, so tempting...

She could feel herself being analysed by him & her stomach fluttered with butterflies, whether it was due to fear & nervousness or something else she didn't know. She stepped back when her foot caught in her long blanket which lazily strayed off the bed, sending her flying backwards. As a reflex, she reached out & gripped Maan's arm to stop her from falling completely, but rather she ended up crashing back onto the bed with him on top of her.

Her eyes were shut tight, then she felt his cool breath on her face & she opened her eyes slowly to meet his which flickered & shone with a whole new emotion, an emotion she had never seen before but something which caused the hair on the back of her neck to rise.
