Akshara's Column: New home, new beginnings!

Hi friends. The world we live in is so hypocritical. They say one should help each other during times of need and when someone does they are quick to blame. I didn't understand why it was a big deal for people that my in-laws are staying in my parent's home.
Do they enjoy pointing fingers at others misery? Thankfully, we have found a house on rent and hopefully things will look up now.
Natik was feeling anxious as he couldn't finalize a house and Dadaji was angry with Gayatri ma about turning down the options. Dadaji wanted everything to be settled quickly as Buaji plans to come for a visit. They didn't want to be in my parents' home as it would be complicated. These rivaz of society are unfair. Why is it considered wrong on the part of Naitik's family to stay in my family home or vice versa- if circumstances demand so? Why are we answerable to anyone? Their pointed questions don't help, but simply hurt and harm.
For Ananya's birthday party, I baked a cake while Gayatri ma and Bhabhi ma fretted over what gift would seem appropriate for her. Gayatri ma and Dadaji are most uncomfortable in this situation as they feel they are imposing on my parents and worried about what the society thinks of them.
When the women- especially Rukmini aunty mentioned that it must be tough on Gayatri ma and Bhabhi ma to stay in their in laws house, Shankari tai replied saying that not all days are similar. There are ups and downs in everyone's life and one should welcome both with a smile. This is life. One's family and bonds are more important than the house. I felt so proud of my father who has such high thinking. I realised we are all together not just in happy times but sadness too. I was overwhelmed with these emotions. This is the essence of a family which comes together and sticks together during tough times.
I am glad Naitik found a suitable house and Dadaji announced that we would shift there the next day. I had mixed emotions as I was happy we got a house of our own but sad to leave my parents. The new house use is small, but we are glad it's ours. I wonder what is in store next.
