Joint family-syndrome: A review

The concept of joint families is an age-old and a well appreciated one among the elder generation.Nowadays, the very idea is shrinking in practice, but has taken the everlasting fancy of the 'Utopian' soapmakers of Indian television arena.
Have a look at the prime time shows of Star Plus-be it Kesar,Kahin

To Hoga, Kasauti Zindagi Kay, KSBKBT or KGGK or K Street Pali Hill or Bhabhi or blah blah.......oh yes Kumkum pyara sa bhandhan too.......on an average, each serial holds a family of a minimum of 11 members in a household (KSBKBT populates 20+.......permanent members in addition to the occasional addition and substraction of temporary characters.Similar is the case of KGGK).

The next question is ,what is the point they have to make with this overpopulation? Upholding traditional Indian values? Emphasising the importance of Joint families? Honestly, if that is the motive behind these 'butcher houses' then the whole concept backfires........Is this how a Joint Family going to be?

1. If every family has got an eavesdropping Mohini I don't think I can ever cook up pleasant surprises on occasions!
2.If a tangle like Ansh-Nandini-Karan arise and only Tulsi realises the truth of the situation, then there is no point in being in a joint family.What is the use of being amidst a group of people who identify you as a family member but never recognize you as a person?
3.I am sure if Mihir had started a nuclear family with Tulsi,she would have led life like a normal woman with lesser sacrifices and greater peace of mind and marital bliss!
4.If the happenings in KGGK is what happens in every joint household,na....re......baba......mujhe nahin chahiye aisi family..........
5.Inspite of the ideals how do they manage to keep getting married and divorced..........?
6.Despite being staunch promoters of family relationships Prerna and Kesar never appear HAPPY.Always a thought or two keep worrying them.Is it because they have too much responsibility on their shoulders?
7.Anyone can sneak into the house at any time in the night ,no one knows anything.........
8.If you feel like being on your own you can't........they always walk in gangs and express as a group..........
9.No place for passion or romance.Even if it is a wedding anniversary,the couples are not left alone.
10.Inspite of proving your worth in the family people misunderstand you when the Time comes........

Tell me, who wants to be part of such a family?Give me Hundred thousand per Act and i'll think about it, not a bad idea then!

But our society is far diff now, All seek nuclear family. The main fact which saught my mouth open is when watching Kzk is joint family. 😆
WE lost this family type by 1960 /.
