Preeti Puri and Tarun Khanna step in Zee TV's Shobha Somnath Ki
With the upcoming twenty year leap, Zee TV's Shobha Somnath Ki is all set to get a new Maharani Gayatri Devi and Dadda Chalukya. After having played the role since the launch of the show in June, Amrita Raichand & Yash Tonk are all set to make way for actors Preeti Puri and Tarun Khanna.
It seems that both Amrita & Yash had concerns about playing parents to a 20 year old on the show post the time leap, since they felt that they were too young to play such a role. Hence, the decision to step aside from their roles for Preeti and Tarun to take over!
Both Preeti and Tarun are well known faces in the television industry, having quite a repertoire of shows to their credit. However, both actors are quite thrilled about their parts and are gung-ho about jumping head first into their characters! While Preeti will be joining the show on an immediate basis, Tarun will be seen in his new role once the show takes the scheduled leap.
We contacted Preeti who confirmed the news, "Yes I am playing the character of Maharani Gayatri Devi. It's a very good show and the set is also very grand hence I took up the show. My husband is the project head of this show and he used to always tell me to visit the set but see my destiny brings me here today in the form of an actor. And I don't mind playing the character of a mother either."

There's plenty action and drama on Shobha Somnath Ki this week - With Ghaznavi having inside help, there is only so much that the royal family can do as they flee from Bharuch and are on the run to escape from an irate Ghaznavi who is on a rampage.
