This is my first time writing anything, so please bare with me guys J Before I start, I would like to thank chandarani1, AquaBluez17, Zeee, CHIKA784, Anisha_91, littlemoi, and nishi for encouraging me to continue with my idea for this story.

So here we go'

The plot starts where yesterday's episode ended. The plot is the same before this point. I am only continuing the story from here. Consider it a prediction of what I wish to see happen in a way

Enough of me. Here's ArShi + some unwanted but necessary characters (BTW..I will speak from the characters' POVs, so don't think that I personally have any respect for snake'Shyamji is what khushi calls him still)

BTW, I will update from now on in both Hindi and English versions. I realized that not as many people are able to read this FF because it has hindi dialogues. Therefore, i am going to make two versions of each chapter. Both the versions will have the same narration, the only differnce will be that the dialogues and thoughts will be either in a mixture of hindi and english (hindi version) or purely english (english version)

I am sorry if my English dialogues do not do as much justice to the characters..I only know what the characters will say in the way they speak..I did my best to translate into English as per the scene, so there won't be direct translations 😃 I hope this helps 😉

Arnav- jealousy and possessiveness
Khushi- just because
Aakash- cute boyish charms
Payal- adorable girly shyness
Shyam- aag baboola anger and disgust
Anjali- sweet like a plum yet strong and slight tinge of bitterness when need be (slight variation from character in show)

italicized-thoughts

normal-actions/dialogues/narration

Chapter 1- Hindi (scroll down for the English version)

Khushi was staring at her hands side-by-side while sitting on her bed in her and jiji's room. She thought, "Kya humari sach me sagai ho gayi hai? Yeh toh khushi ki baat honi chahiye. Toh phir hum Kushi ho kar bhi, kushi kyu nahi hai?" As she looked from the ring that Shyamji placed on her right ring finger to the bandage on the left finger, thoughts of the Arnav and interactions with him flooded her mind'

Arnav lifted her dupatta-wrapped left hand from her side. Despite her attempts at stopping him, he continued to unravel her hand and inspect the cut she received from the broken glass earlier that day. She winced as he pressed his pure white handkerchief against the blood. Why was he so keen to soil the purity with her blood? Why did he seem to care about her so much? But no!

Kushi continued to talk herself out of this dilemma, "Woh to hamesha humme humari aukaad aur haisyat yaad dilate hai. Unko humari koi parwa nahi hai'lekin phir diwali ki raat jo'He Devi Maiya! Yeh hum kya anaap-shanaap sonch rahe hai?"

Unnerved by her thoughts, Khushi slipped under the covers and turned to one side in order to fall into slumber. However, simply 15 minutes later found her tossing and turning, unable to sleep. As she thought, buaji's words came back to her, "Haire Nandkisore! Sasi babua ko in sab davaiyon se kush nahi hone wala. U is baat to sunke pareshan huye rahe ki tohori mangni ka mohurat bit gaya aur agla shub mohurat kaafi samay ke liye nahi aawat hai."

Khushi thought, "buaji ka kya matlab tha ki mohurat nikal gaya? Kahin mohurat us waqt ka to nahi'.hai devi maiya! Raksha karna! Yeh nahi ho sakta. Ab hum kya kareinge?" Jumping out of bed and folding her hands in front of Devi Maiya's idol sitting on the table, she said, "Humne kuch bhi jaan ke nahi kiya. Aap to sab kuch jaanti hai na?"

With that, she gave a final scrutinizing yet longing look at the bandage on her left hand and walked out of the bedroom. She knew what she had to do'well, at least for now.

😊

Chapter 1- English

Khushi was staring at her hands side-by-side while sitting on her bed in her and sister's room. She thought, "Am I really engaged? This should be a news of joy. Then, why am I not happy?" As she looked from the ring that Shyam placed on her right ring finger to the bandage on the left finger, thoughts of the Arnav and interactions with him flooded her mind'

Arnav lifted her scarf-wrapped left hand from her side. Despite her attempts at stopping him, he continued to unravel her hand and inspect the cut she received from the broken glass earlier that day. She winced as he pressed his pure white handkerchief against the blood. Why was he so keen to soil the purity with her blood? Why did he seem to care about her so much? But no!

Kushi continued to talk herself out of this dilemma, "He always reminds me of my social status and near-empty bank balance. He doesn't care about me..But then, what happenned on Diwali nig-...Oh God! Why am I thinking about all this crap?"

Unnerved by her thoughts, Khushi slipped under the covers and turned to one side in order to fall into slumber. However, simply 15 minutes later found her tossing and turning, unable to sleep. As she thought, buaji's words came back to her, "Haire Nandkisore! None of these medicines will help improve Shashi's health. He got worried sick after hearing that the auspicious time arranged named by the priest for the engagement has passed and the next auspicious time does not occur until next week."

Khushi thought, "What does aunt mean by saying that the auspicious time has passed? Oh god! was the auspicious time when-NO!! (thinking of Arnav back at the temple) This can't be happening. Now what am I supposed to do?" Jumping out of bed and folding her hands in front of Devi Maiya's idol sitting on the table, she said, "You know the truth, right God? I did not do any of this intentionally"

With that, she gave a final scrutinizing yet longing look at the bandage on her left hand and walked out of the bedroom. She knew what she had to do...well, at least for now.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! Let me know what you guys think!

Chapter 2-Hindi

She immediately walked into the kitchen and dug through the pantry for self raising flour, baking powder, yogurt, vegetable oil, sugar, saffron, cardamom powder, orange food color and rose water. It was about time she did some damage control around here! It was Jalebi time! Simultaneously cooking and eating Jalebis was the only thing that allowed Khushi to think clearly and kept her from going insane in times of distress.

As she clanked away with swirling perfectly-shaped batter into the frying pan and then shifting to another container, she unknowingly woke up another member in the household. Little did she know, her constant cooking and eating whiled away nearly four hours.

"ee dekhou sanka devi. Tori sanak ka kona anth nahi hai ka? Abhi pata hai kaa samay hai?" Buaji exclaimed as she shook Khushi.

Lost in her thoughts, Khushi failed to hear what buaji had to say and continued to swim in the river of her thoughts as she picked up another Jalebi to eat from the ever-growing pile of the already-prepared sweets.

Rapidly interfering Khushi's thoughts and bringing her back to reality, buaji grabbed her hand before she bit into the next Jalebi. Pointing to the syrupy sweet in Khushi's hand, buaji continued her vocal tyraid, "are parmeswari! Ee ka pagalpan hai? Subha ke dui baj rahe hai aur tum ho ki rukne ka naam hi nahi le rahi ho. BAS! Ab jaa ke sui jao tum. Kal hum sab ke liye liye bohut bada din hai"

Still in a daze from her recurring thoughts about Arnav, Khushi perfunctorily moved away from the stove and went into the room to lie sleeplessly on the bed once again.

Meanwhile, Arnav tossed and turned in his bed and could not go to sleep either. Ever since he met Khushi at the temple that morning, all he could see was he face in front of his eyes, no matter where he looked. As soon as he tried to close his eyes, his exhausted mind placed the image of him bandaging Khushi's bleeding finger. The blood had covered his handkerchief, and he had spent the entire day trying to get rid of the stains on the hanky and his finger. Why was he letting it get to him? He doesn't care about anything. Usko koi farak nahi panda chahiye, then why could he not get her images out of his head?

"Damnit!" Arnav exclaimed as he sat up in his bed, giving up the fight in a losing battle of sleep.

Immediately, he walked outside his room into the poolside greenhouse. "Yes. I haven't watered my plants today. THAT's why I'm restless and can't sleep," he consoled himself. He did not want to think of any other possible explanation for his weird behavior. However, as he stepped out of the door, his eyes fell on the wall where the night of Diwali had found him cornering his Khushi. HIS khushi? "What the..!!"

At the thought, Arnav clenched his jaw and his fist and punched the wall. As he retreated his hand, he noticed a speck of freshly oozing blood pouring from his middle, right-hand knuckle. He closed his eyes to calm himself down and images of fighting the goons flooded his mind.

"Are! Aapko to khoon'" voiced a concerned and trembling Khushi. Undeterred by his gaze, she continued, "aapko kya zaroorat thi unko is tarha marne ki? Unhone sirf Dhaka hi to diya tha hume. Agar who humpe haath uthathein tho?"

"Get out!" Arnav turned to face a horror-stricken Khushi in the passenger seat. "I said GET OUT!" he repeated. What did she think of herself? If she really wanted to be beaten by the goons, then why did he care so much to fight for her? Why couldn't he take even the thought of someone hurting her more?

His mind floating back to reality, Arnav clenched his fists in anger at himself for yelling at a poor, innocent Khushi all the time. A little voice (ASR) inside his head told him, "I just didn't want her to get hurt and sue me. That's why I cared."

Another voice (Arnie) inside his head said, "I care about her because I don't want her to get hurt."

"So you hurt her by yelling at her yourself...show her who the boss is!" retorted the fist voice.

"Because that's me. I can do whatever I want to my Khushi, but no one else has the right" replied the second.

THE RIGHT? "WHAT THE-!!" shouted Arnav in a voice filled with defense, arrogance, and a hint of defeat.

Taking a deep breath, Arnav continued to walk to the plants and grabbed the watering can on the way. As he began to water the plants, his mind repeatedly reminded him of the time when Khushi was teaching Lavanya to wear a sari. He had lost himself in her beauty and in her innocent eyes.

Unable to even water the plants, he walked back into his room, defeated. "I need to go talk to her tomorrow. What does she think of herself? How dare she stop me from sleeping?" he thought.

Felling slightly drowsy now, he lazily looked on the bedside table to check the time, and the last thing his eyes saw before closing was 2:00 A.M. tomorrow was going to be a big day. He was going to regain the control he seemed to have lost in his life.

Lost in her thoughts, Khushi failed to hear what buaji had to say and continued to swim in the river of her thoughts as she picked up another Jalebi to eat from the ever-growing pile of the already-prepared sweets.
