Part 6: The Finale
As both of them looked into one another's eyes in a deep gaze totally lost in each other, Arnav this time was the one to walk away.
"Rukiye, aap aise nahi jaa sakte '."
Arnav continued to walk fast as Khushi tried to keep pace with him ' Arnav's struggle to keep up with his emotions because of what had happened right now was evident on his face and his eyes, as he occasionally kept shutting them to regain composure' and then he turned around and said '
"kyun fir se sawal karne waali ho ke abhi jo hua kyun hua, Khushi Kumari Gupta, mere galey tum lagi thi ' aur maine tumse pehle bhi kaha hai, yeh painter mujhpe kaam nahi ayenge '"
Kh: Mujhe kheencha aap hi ne tha, aur yeh baat aap bhi jaante hai '
Ar: toh? Jaake sab ko yeh baat batake hungama khada karogi? Paper main chapvaogi '? Go do whatever you want, for I don't give a damn '
He turns away on realising she may burst into tears any moment and he doesn't want to melt at the moment.
"dekhiye, Arnav ji, hum aapse ek bahut hi zaroor baat karne aaye the, aur iske baad agar aap chahe toh hum aapko kabhi apna mooh nahi dikhayenge'"
Arnav turns to look at Khushi.. as she starts to speak ' "aap jo Lavanya je eke saath kar rahey hai, wo theek nahi hai 'bahut dil dukha hai unka .."
Ar: that's none of your business'
Kh: humara hi bujiness hai yeh '
Ar: agar baat paison ki hai, toh main poora cheque tumhare ghar bhijwaadoonga '
Kh: aap har baat ka tolna paiso se kyun karte hai ??
Ar: main apne marzi ka maalik hoon , aur main wahi karoonga jo mujhe theek lagta hai '
Kh: Par ' aap unke saath sagai kyun nahi kar sakte Khushi pleaded'
Arnav gripped onto Khushi's shoulders totally annoyed, reacting " Cos I don't love her damnnit, aur yeh sab main tumhe kyun bata raha hoon? Just get out now" He pushs her away as Khushi looks on at him, but it was too late, cos there is a third spectator to their conversation already'
La is standing right in between totally shocked '
"Chamkeeli, ASR, raat ke iss time pe aap dono ' ???"
Kh: Lavanya Jee ' aap galat samajh rahi hai '
Ar: aur mujhe koi explanation dene ki zaroorat nahi hai '!! Tumhe jo samajhna hai samjho ' I don't care '
La goes away crying and Arnav turns to leave to his room as Khushi stands there totally perplexed at the turn of events.
Next Morning:
The Raizadas and the Kashyaps had gathered in the hall as La had called them all. Arnav also turned up, and so did Khushi. La's eyes were tear stained ASR looked like he didn't care, but his eyes gave away the fact that he hadn't slept all night. Khushi looked guilty.
La: Maine aap sab ko yahan ek bahut important baat batane ke liye bulaya hai '.
She looked at nani, who for once encouraged her to talk, it gave her immense strength. Her parents looked clueless.
La: Main ASR se sagai nahi karna chahti 'aur iska reason kya hai, yeh aapko ASR khud batayenge .. ya fir ' chamkeeli '.
Everyone is shocked at this revelation. They all stare on at Khushi.
Kh: Dekhiye Lavanya ji, kal raat ko bhi aapne hume kuch batane ka mauka nahi diya tha aur aaj bhi hum aapse keh rahey hai, aisa kuch bhi nahi hai jaisa ke aap soch rahi hai '
La: accha, toh kya yeh jhoot hai ke sagai se pehle tum ASR ke kamre main thi?
Khushi is silent but nods as everyone gasps '
"aur yeh ke ASR sagai cancel karne se pehle bhi tumhi se milne aaye the'."
Kh: aye the magar '.
La looks away as she says ' " aur kal aadhi raat ko bhi aap dono saath the, kya yeh baat jhoot hai Chamkeeli"
Ar: That's enough Lavanya, tum yeh Khushi ke bare main kaise baatein kar rahi ho'. ( unable to take it anymore)
La: aapko farak kyun padta hai ASR' agar main Chamkeeli ke bare main kuch kaho'.
Arnav is seething with anger, biting his teeth ' but retorts " haan yeh sab sach hai, ke Khushi wahi pe thi, lekin uska iss baat se koi connection nahi hai ke main tumse shaadi nahi karna chahta 'you get that ???"
La: I knew it ASR ' I just knew it, kash tum yeh baat pehle bol dete, ke tum mujhe nahi Chamkeeli ko pasand karte ho '
Nani looks at Arnav' and instantly reacts ' "kaa yeh sach hai Arnav Bitwa, ke aap Khusi beti ko pasand karte ho"
Anjali: Chote kya sach '.
Ar: Just stop it guys '!!! What the hell is going on?? Sab apne apne versions suna rahey hai ' congratulations Khushi Kumari Gupta, the attention seeker! Mil gayi tumhe Khushi? Ab yeh mat samajh lena ke pressure main aake main kuch aisa karoonga jissey tumhara fayda hogi'.
Khushi has tears in her eyes, ready to cry '. Shyam who is sitting on the chair is also angry on realising why Khushi was so reluctant to marry him at that time. But he tries to hide his face from her so that she doesn't notice him.
Nani: chote' aap humka bata sakte hai, humka kono aitraaz nahi hogi, kyunki Khusi bitiya toh humko bahut pehle se pasand thi'
La's mother: wow !! itna humiliation? Itna insult '. Baby, is this the guy you loved? A man who doesn't respect you and your feelings?
Shyam: Dekhiye aap humare saaley saab ke bare main yeh kaisi baatien kar rahi hai'?
And within minutes, both the families get into a heated argument, accusing one another, saying all sorts of things to each other as Anjali fails to play moderator.
Suddenly Arnav shouts "Just shut up all of you"
Everyone stops and looks at Arnav. After having said this, Arnav goes to La, holds and hand and looks at her' This time his voice is mellow as he speaks ..
"Lavanya, I know, ke maine jo tumhare saath kiya, wo sahi nahi hai, aur main tumhe issi liye bata raha hoon, I am not the one for you. We are not meant to be. Iska kisi aur baat se koi waasta nahi hai. I just think, someone sweet and innocent like you deserves someone who loves her, cares for her aur I am not that person"
La has tears in her eyes '. "Pata hai ASR, jab se main aapke saath hoon, tab se maine expect kiya hai, ke aap mujhse kabhi na kabhi, kisi na kisi din, dil se baat kareneg, lekin unfortunately wo kabhi nahi hua' But today, I see , ke aapne job hi kaha sach kaha, aur I appreciate you for that!! Thanks ASR thanks a ton"
She hugs him as Arnav hugs her back with all his heart.
She moving off she says ' " pata hai, pichle kuch mahino se main bhi soch rahi thi, ke aisa kya ho raha hai jiski wajah se aap mujhse door hote jaa rahey ho ' lekin yahan aane ke baad mujhe realise hua, ke aapke happiness, saddess ya koi bhi emotion ka link directly Chamkeeli, I mean Khushi se hai'"
Ar: Oh Please Lavanya'.
La: Nahi ASR, trust me ' pata hai, maine apne aap main itni changes kyun aane diye? Kyunki I truly love you and always will' lekin' ek cheez main aapko batana chahti hoon ' ke mujhse zayada changes aap main aayi hai' aur yeh changes Anjane main hui hai, aap Khushi ke aas paas hote hi alag hi insaan ban jaate ho '
An: haan chote, lavanya ji sahi keh rahi hai '
La's Mom: Baby, what are you saying'..
La: Please mom, let me sort this out with ASR okay '.
La: ASR, Chamkeeli ne hi mujhe sikhaya ke kisi bhi cheez main kabhi bhed bhaav nahi karna chahiye, usne mujhe dil se aur khulke jeena shikhaya, aur main jaanti hoon ke main Duniya main jahan kahin bhi chali jaun, I will always carry these emotions with me'
Arnav is silent '.
Nani: Miss Kassap'. Aap sacchi main bahut acchi hai dil ki '.
Mami makes a face and looks away ' and Shyam also is very uncomfortable ''
La: Chamkeeli '.. ( she calls out)
There is no response'..
An: Khushi Jee'..
She is nowhere to be seen' And that's when they realise Khushi had silently slipped out of the room and no one had noticed this amidst all the tension and hustle. Arnav looks up to see'
"Khushi??"
She is nowhere.
La looks at the restlessness in Arnav's face, that he has been trying to hide and she says to him'.
La: Accha... ASR, mere liye choti si bewakoofi karenge? As our parting gift'.
Arnav looks at her '.
La: Just close your eyes, and reflect over all that I just told you '.. Arnav turns away '.as La turns him to her side once more, looking at him vulnerably and says ' "please ASR, mere liye'."
Arnav closes his eyes and the moment he does, all that had happened between Khushi and him comes reeling right back right from the time she had landed in his arms to them hugging in the rain to the payal moment to the incident in his room, to what had happened the earlier night as she hugged him tight' and he suddenly opens his eyes and lets out ' "Khushi !!!"
And then without wasting any more time, he rushes outta the room to go fetch her as the entire family hugs La and kisses her good bye. Nani blesses her, Anjali cries loads and her family has all sullen faces.
Scene 3:
Khushi is standing on the footpath of a busy road as she remembers that all he had said to her the earlier night. The words, don't stop resounding. And his words earlier, a while back where he had accused her again. She was sick and tired and totally numb. Not knowing where she is heading she starts walking towards the other side of the road, as a speeding truck is about to come and hit her, a hand pulls her swiftly once more, and embraces her this time not letting go, though she wants to. She tries to resist it not with too much force as she eventually gives into the comforting hug with tears drenching his shirt almost.
Ar: What the '' pagal ho kya '. Tumhe kuch ho jaata toh? ( angry and worried, gripping her tighter) ' main toh Marr hi jaata''
Kh: (comfortably in his embrace and lost) mera dil jaanta tha, aap mujhe marne nahi doge'.
And suddenly ' He pushes her away almost shocking her '.
Ar: What the hell do you mean? Yeh sab nataak tha ' to get me here?
Kh: Haan !! Natak tha toh?'. ( totally exasperated and tired of this routine) she turns to leave'.
Ar: Accha kiya job hi kiya ! ( not looking into her eyes)
Kh: Huh?
She looks at him, and realises he is at his vulnerable, emotional peak, as he says this, and she starts smiling, and then slightly laughing through her tears looking at him'.
Arnav who is sulking and angry, yet embarrassed till then also starts laughing as he pulls her into an hug as on lookers watch, into an embrace that would never ever make them part again!
