The Aishwarya Rai look alike (everybody on the sets says that she resembles Ash) has moved into a new house. Earlier she was staying at a 600 sq feet 1BHK in Versova Akashdeep and now the Sardarni kudi has shifted to a 2BHK 1600 sq feet flat in Meera Apartments (Koena Mitra stays in this building) at Oshiwara. " My parents (in Chandigarh) haven't seen this flat yet. They are expected here next week. I chose this flat entirely on my own," she tells HiTLIST.

Surveen wanted to move out of Versova Akashdeep (she stayed there from the day she came to Mumbai, two years ago), but didn't want to go away from Andheri.
"I know a lot of TV actors have taken homes in Goregaon and Malad, but for me, I wanted to remain in the centre. We all go till Bandra very often and I decided that it would be better if I stayed somewhere in the middle. So, I didn't want to go away from Andheri."
When she finally zeroed down on Meera Apartments, she first chose a flat in the same building on the third floor. Explains Surveen, "Actually I was confused between a flat on the third floor and this one on the fifth. I had seen both of them in the morning, but till I made up my mind in the evening, my broker informed that the one on the third floor had been sold just a few minutes ago."
Everything happens for the best. "This flat has not only two extra balconies which I am utilising to the maximum these days, as I love rains. Last night when it rained, I sat in my balcony for over an hour," she flashes a smile.
Pillow talk: Surveen in the bedroom |
The bedroom does not have a bed, just a double-bed mattress on the floor, "I like to sleep at a low level," Surveen says, lying on the mattress and hugging a pillow close to her.
"I have done the flat without the help of any interior designer. I believe in giving it a personal touch. I personally shop for everything I want, related to the furnishing of the place. I don't take anybody along. Too many opinions end up confusing a person."
Surveen is particularly happy with the security arrangements in Meera Apartments. "This building has many IAS and IPS officers. So the security is really good. There was a guy who used to say he is a plumber, who wants to go to A-501.
He used to ring the bell and run away. Once I complained, it was immediately sorted out. I am yearning for the day when I own a house. I hope that I am able to buy this very one," she concludes.
