What exactly is METHOD ACTING? Who is good at it?

After a silly Sonam poll (😆) and tragic Shiney interview (😭), let's balance it up (let's be serious and think now!) for the last topic of the day. 😃 I have always wondered what METHOD acting entails. According to Wikipedia, method acting is defined as the following "Method acting is a phrase that loosely refers to a family of techniques used by actors to create in themselves the thoughts and emotions of their characters, so as to develop lifelike performances." This definition sounds very complex when you first read it. 😕 But, there are not very many actors who develop themselves for lifelike performances except Aamir and perhaps Ifran Khan, Om Puri, Ajay Devgan, etc. It is like method acting has a certain selection of elite people! Ranbir seems to be trying that with Rockstar and Barfee.

method acting...is about putting your brain into your performances..I feel good actors put their brains and emotions...for instance..one can research about their character..context...and completely understand the character...however the performance..and the take should flow naturally..one should not think before the shot...one should only feel
