The impending generation leap in Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki is a strict no-no for its male protagonist Arjun Punjj. The actor quits the sole serial he stars in

He is acting in only one serial at the moment but that doesn't deter Arjun Punjj from calling it quits. Arjun, who plays the male lead, Raj in Sahara One's Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, is not in favour of the show taking a generation leap so soon since it requires his character to be visibly aged, sporting grey hair, which the actor finds discomforting.

"The serial is taking a 20-year leap. I can't identify with the character after the leap. I will not be able to look so old and won't be able to carry out the part either. I can play any other role—a goon, a policeman or anyone else. But I can't play father to someone my age," says Arjun.

When asked by the Barjatyas (producers) if he would be interested in the serial after the leap, Arjun said he wouldn't. "I don't want to age yet. I want to do films, run around trees... I want to achieve a certain amount of creative satisfaction when I do a serial," he says.

"I am not against the idea of a generation leap per se, but only if it occurs after two or three years. Woh Rehene Waali... is a new serial. A generation leap right now could disturb the viewership pattern. Honestly, I'd have loved to continue with the show but not with a leap. Now, I believe they will kill my character. June 15 will be my last working day in the soap," he adds.

Nonetheless, Arjun's co-star and the female lead Reena Kapoor who plays Rani in the show, does not share his sentiments. "I am not leaving the serial. I will continue after the leap but sans grey hair. As of now, I've been told that my character will die and return as Raj and Rani's daughter. I will do the serial as long as it runs," says Reena.

i agree wid Arjun in a way we shouldnt hve a leap soo soon, we will lose viewers.....the serial has started to lose his charm!

Isn't it kind of Silly for Arjun to keep on doing this, quiting and coming back and quiting again. Don't get me wrong but in a way he is right because who would want to a father to your own wife, you know what I mean. and I think he's wrong in a way because it's just plain Silly, he should stick it out to the end after all that's what being an actor is all about. It's about give & take. I'm sure other producers take in mind your privous action. the will think twice about hiring that kind of person. I Love Arjun Punj so much that I will follow his career 😉 .

Yes, Arjun is right about the leap..It's too early to take one. The serial's just a year old..I think it's an unwise move..

i think arjun is right who would want to play the role of a father of a son/ daugher that is his age in reality and they shouldn't take a leap right now i mean taking the 18 yrs forward is too much i think they should've moved the story 2 or 3 yrs forward not 18 yrs. Wot do u gyus think???

Well Believe it or Not

in the shoe Tumhari the same situation is gong on with the leading lady Disha (Chavvi) who has similar views are ARJUN😃 She too said she will not act if the story has a leap, she has to act a mother to someone her own age.

& Dk (Ashish) has similar views as Reena, both said they don't care they will continue to act.

or Well its one's Opinion, can't do anything about it.

i do agree with wat arjun says as the soap is 1 year old and having a leap. the viewers will fell its becoming silly he comes in and goes out.
i think that the serial wont be interesting anymore. coz first raj died then followed by prince than what about rani??
but its sad to have the male leading role out 😭
