"Hey Dia, its 3:00 am here."
"Sorry, its mid-day in India here. I messed up."
"No you didn't. I am wide awake."
"May I know why?"
"Pretty simple. Sleep is evading me tonight."
"Out with the whole story girl."
"I am so happy tonight Dia! I can't believe it!! When are you returning back?"
"24Th morning . Ian & I have to spend Christmas with his family in New Jersey. Now your turn."
"It's an erratic feeling. I still got tiny goosebumps all over my body. Can't still believe that it all happened for real!"
"Okay then…lemme guess…is he back?"
"Sleeping right next door."
"What?? OMG!!...You guys finally made up! I am so happy for you! …but what you meant by next door? Isn't he supposed to be right next to you now?"
"Till marriage happens we can't do it."
"Aha…I see you all ready for it. Marriage is just the time set."
"Dia!...Hahahaa……I didn't meant that. Nothing happens between us until marriage."
"Don't lie to me that atleast you guys didn't kiss tonight?"
"Okay you win. But it was just a kiss."

"So you guys are in whose house? Yours or his?"
"Ummm….it's a roadside inn actually. Some 80 miles away from town."
"How on earth you guys booked two different rooms staying in same hotel?"
"Dia."
"Okay serious now, what's the matter Nupur?"
"The real reason he's here in the first place is to help me out………." I began.
"Goodness me!! Why you hid from me that pervert is after you all this while?"
"Dia, you and Ian are newly-weds, remember?"
"No. Still you should have told me! Are you alright dear?"
"I am fine now. With him back in my life I can deal with anything."
"Anything? You are gonna go out and act as a bait for Morgan and it's anything? What's Mayank's take on it?"
"Ummm….he doesn't know yet."
"Are you kidding? How could you not? How will he help you then?"
"He is helping me out with everything. I have told him my colleague is in this situation. He himself wants her to catch Morgan red-handed. Trust me I have already thought on this."
"Well then I got nothing to say more."
"Dia. I will be fine. If the worst has to happen, I have Mayank to bail me out. Please understand I need to fight this monster down for once and for all."
"Honey I do understand. Just promise me you'll take care of yourself."
"I will. Don't worry."
"Alright then. Now get some sleep. You have a tight day ahead. Good luck Nupur."

"Morning sweetie."
"A very good morning to you too Mayank." I smiled back at him.
"Where is my Nupur? Where you hid her?"
"What do you mean?"
"Can't believe you responded to my morning greetings and that too with such a sweet smile. I am wondering where you hid that grumpy girl."
"Very funny Mayank."
"It's just my sense of humor dear. Anytime. " he winked. " Hope you had a good sleep last night."
"I slept like a log."
"Did I come in your dreams?"
"Well I lied. I was practically wide awake the whole night."
"Were you thinking about me then?"
"Mr. Sharma why does everything in the world has to come upon you? I am not one of those girls whose live revolves around a guy. The one who gets sad when he's not there and then is suddenly happy when he's back. There's so much more to me."
"Of course. I can see that you aren't one of those types."
"Mayank are you done?"
"With breakfast yes. With you? The answer is NO."
"Don't stare at me like that. I am also done with my breakfast."
"Well I was just confirming if your cheeks are actually going red or was it the powder?"

"Can you go a little slow please?"
"Didn't that bas***d text your colleague to reach The Landmark hotel in city by 11:00 am?"
"Yes he did. But still there's no need to rush like this."
"We have to be there before him to set up everything."
"Is your colleague on her way?"
"Um,…yes."
"What's her name?"
"Can't tell."
"What do you mean you can't? how else I am gonna recognize her?"
"Well I told you she shies away from the limelight. And she's really scared and nervous today. You set the whole thing and wait outside. I meet her and wait inside then when she signals I 'll call you inside too."
"You are not waiting inside with her."
"She's my colleague. My friend. She entrusted me with this. I have to do this."
"No you aren't doing it. End of Discussion."
"Mayank I'll be in the lobby. I can take care of myself. I'll be calling you as soon as your help is needed inside. Please Mayank. Let me do this."
"How can I let you so?"
"Coz you respect my decision."
"Fine. On one condition though. You will stay a good distance away and call me as soon as Morgan reaches the hotel room to meet your colleague inside."
"I promise Mayank."

I waited impatiently in the big well-furnished hotel room staring at the flower vase where Mayank had carefully hidden the camcorder and microphone. My heart started pounding louder as I heard the wooden door tweak open.
"So good to see you Miss finally here." Morgan stepped inside with a crooked smile.
"Sir."
"Oh honey, over with the formalities. We are here to bond more deeper than before."
"Umm…..May…I….I…get you a drink?"
"With pleasure."
I turned around to get o the bar. With shaking hands I poured him a drink. The mirror ahead reflected his evil image as he opened his shirt.
"It's so cold outside. We all could do with some warming together. Right Nupur?"
"Your drink."
I repulsively withdrew my hand as he caressed my fingers while taking the glass from me.
"Don't be afraid of me. I am a very loving and gentle man."
He dropped the glass of wine. It shattered as it crashed down spilling the wine.
"I am not getting spiked today."
"AAAhhh." He held me by the throat. He leaned in closer to whisper. "I know. Your lover is outside in the parking. My people will take good care of him."
"Mayank!" my eyes grew wide in horror as I struggled to get out of his tight hold on my neck.
"Screw you!" I spit on him.
"Such a feisty little vixen. You were always so hard to get. You love being the tough girl. Don't you?" I trembled in disgust and terror as he traced his finger on my cheek." Yet I gonna bet you will taste soft inside."
"It's over dear. Your lover won't ever come to your rescue. It's me all you got now." With his free hand he taped my mouth. It was all over.
Tears came rushing in my eyes as I tried struggling uselessly against his strong grip. I could feel his horrible breath on my face as he inched closer.
"AAARGHHH." He shouted in pain. His fingers slackened from my throat as he fell down. Blood came oozing out in his abdomen.
It was Mayank.
It was him standing with the half broken wine glass, the missing half inserted in Morgan's stomach from behind. His hair hazy and he himself looked a mess. He was staring with bloodshot eyes and had bruise marks all over the body. I could spot a miss bullet mark on his right shoulder edge.
I jerked the mouth tape away. "Mayank are you alright?" but his focus was someone else.
"How dare you touch my girl???"
I shivered at his growl. I had never seen him this angry before. Morgan tried to rise but Mayank proved too quick for him as he laid down punches after punches on him. Blood came out from Morgan's nose and jaw.
"Mayank stop that! You'll kill him!!"
It was a scary sight seeing Mayank mercilessly pound Morgan. He had already knocked him out. Morgan was going to be dead if Mayank continued to beat him like that.
"Please Mayank let go of him." I tried stopping him from his arm but he jerked me away.
Morgan's entire body was now covered in blood. His breathing was getting slower by every passing moment.
"LET GO Mayank." I put myself between him and Morgan."Please." his frantic fist came down to punch and stopped an inch away from my eye. Instantly I hugged him letting my tears fall. I held him tightly until I could feel his raging body relax.
"Mayank I am so sorry." I pulled back. "Omg…did the hurt you? I shouldn't have knowingly brought you here. It's all my fault, I am so sorry." I sobbed.
"Two lousy guys and a revolver is something I can take care of. I have handled bigger stuff."
"Let's take the camcorder and leave this room Mayank."
"What are you doing inside the room? Where is your colleague?"
