Hello everyone, and formally, a Happy (belated) Diwali to you guys 🤗

So Nur and I had a little discussion and decide to alter the formatting of the GK scenes thread posts somewhat. Since doing up the writing and caps for each one, on a regular basis - although we've lapsed in the last weeks - becomes tedious every now and then; and not doing it regularly enough is like breaking the link and losing the motivation to go ahead.

But since I was still keen on uploading the GK scenes post leap onto my account on YT in general, we sort of figured it was just as well we made the threads like before and posted up the scenes. What changes is:

A) We'll post more than the usual share of scenes per day, so actually cover more episodes in space as such.

B) While all GK scenes are worth all the money, it gets tedious, like I said, doing up posts for all of them in a disciplined regularity. And then, everyone does have their variation over favorites. So what we do is, Nur can CAP the scenes she likes, as and when they come along in chronology; and I'll do my gushing/ranting about scenes that stand out for me, more than the others. Meanwhile, everyone who comes to the threads, and especially the few of you who are active - feel free to pick your scenes/caps to comment/discuss from each thread's selection. That way we have like this pool of scenes for each day - going in order - and no one is time or routine pressed to do their part for all the stuff. So like I said above, we cover more in terms of episodes, faster, and still don't feel saddled with the process.

Nur and I think that should work well as a change - so let's give it a shot - anyone have any better ideas, be sure to say them, and let's see how we can best continue to dwell in GK-dom! ☺️ I think we've all done well in general, although last weeks have been slow on all sides. But uploading clips is easy peasy for me - so even if neither Nur and I have anything else to add, we can still have our random 'chat-discussions' over the selection of each thread, right?!

So yeh. That's that. Scenes for today below =)

xx
JZee

Here's a synopsis of scenes included in the vids above:

1) Talli giving first aid to Kesar 🥱 Kesar brushing off her coy attempts (never fails to deliver 😆) [ps: I love the expression he shoots her, that mix of W*F and Jeez, stay away, you're contagious! 🤣 )

2) Exit Talli, enter Gullu. GK confrontation over why Kesar thinks he was goddamn right beating up those losers and how Gulaal tells him kisi galat baat ka virodh karne mein, aur galat ke badle galat karne mein farq hota hai - patronizing as she is, Gulaal spells out the philosophy of her existence to Kesar here. If only he'd been his future self at this point, he would have known Gulaal was speaking from her been there done that experience. Khair, it shakes him up, obviously.

3) Okay I missed this scene in the list initially - its a GT segment, are you even surprised I forgot to "mention" it?! *whistles and looks away to not be caught guilty* So anyway, the reason I added this one to the clips was because I wanted to point out how Gulaal's 'piece of advice' to Talli is - every damn word of it - far more applicable to her ownself, and her bonding with Kesar. In an interesting way, it portrays her 'opinion' about how relationships and expectations within them should be and are, and as a viewer all one can think of how Kesar fits this picture she is painting so perfectly, albeit, not as Talli's dream guy, but Gulaal's unexpected angel. Additionally, I wanted to point out Talli's statement where she tells Gulaal she will never let any injustice come upon her - which as we know in retrospect, is a word she truly sticks to, despite her intermittent demented lapses in interactions with Kesar alone.

4) Kesar overhears MB and Dushy talk about how he's changing, but its not enough. MB mentions how he's awayed by his reckless emotions, but has a golden heart - WORD to that MB - and Dushyant agrees about how not everyone accepts their mistakes - again, spoken like a man who's been there, done that. Kesar hears nothing except Gulaal ke prati uski vyavahar badal raha hai, par abhi bhi wo izzat nahi hai jo honi chiye.

5) Kesar's remorse. One of those exclusive NB at his best scenes that we were treated to - fantastic protrayal which includes pre leap and post leap Kesar attitude issues, towards Gulaal of course, and how its all coming back to him, weighing him down. Out comes the box of bangles, and another letter - MUST BE WATCHED scene! 👏 [I'm going to gush about this more, for sure!]

6) And the next aww scene ☺️ You know if Kesar wasn't Kesar, I'd be perpetually calling him a stalker - I swear, not even funny the number of times he just snoops around spying on Gullu 😆 So she's sleeping, and he comes to finally bring the gift home, where it always belonged. [and yeh, imma gush more about this one too!!!]

7) Aww topped with cherries and icing aww scene 😍 Gulaal finds the bangles, Talli barges into the GK space (teme something new 🥱 ) but even she can't ruin the beauty of this scene with dialogue giving only to the chatterbox, as the oblivious lovebirds engage in their ever reliable naino ki bhasha ☺️ I'd bet anything Gulaal KNEW for a fact he'd gotten the bangles. Dude, she looked him in the eye, and she knew! There was no second facts there. And I like how the CVs never brought it up explicitly between them again - that subtlety again, of making a point without rubbing it in. Because Kesar knew too, in time or right away, that she knew. The silent understanding as from the later jhumkas instance, sigh...! ❤️

8) The school udghaatan scene - this scene reminds me out and out of chota Kesar and his pride in when Gulaal's payal first detected the water source in Talsagra. You just have to go back watch that scene, and then this one - and you see the connection. Kesar has this amazing sense of pride in Gulaal - he has it by now, makes sense, but the way he had it even back then - their souls were always so connected! There's this combination of reverence for her, and like a personal sense of achievement he feels in her act! And I love that still which YT chose for my clip here, Gulaal has her hands folded for the people to thank them, and Kesar has his hands folded for Gulaal - a reflection of all the love and respect he feels for her - as usual, bhaad mein jaaye baaki duniya 😆 And again, there's a glimpse of the way his emotions for her grow exponentially at her heartfelt emotions for Vasant and his sapna... like we discussed earlier, its like this prereq for him - the more he sees her loyalty and devotion towards Vasant, the further his own grows for her!

9) Kesar's sorry - HOW CUTE IS THIS SCENE?! Awww! I've never seen a cuter sorry on Indian TV, I can swear to that! ☺️ Gulaal's surprise at his apology is priceless!

10) I included the last bit of Kesar apologizing to Revji and PooBaa, because I wanted to bring to notice his reaction to Poobaa saying sidhi si baat hai, koi bhi pati apni patni ke bare mein aisi baat nahin sunega - you have to watch to see that exact moment he starts at the mention of 'pati-patni' (lucky PooBaa he doesn't startle her back with a chiii! 😆 ), such a subtle but apt nuance to the scene and a foreshadow of a realization that's coming in its time...!

okay I think I edited this space 5 times from posting it less than 5 minutes ago, remembering to add this, and that, and that - but now I'm done 😆

Mini you're free to gush about them all if you want! The idea is to free Nur and myself from having to elaborately do every scene - and pick and chose our own, while still not breaking the chronology of the show and at least going through all the scenes. It'll help us move in better pace, without being bound to a daily routine...

Does that explain?

One of my fav scene is "Ehsaas Hai mujhe"- I can't help myself frm gushing abt it.
First, Kesar saying his dialogue dharampaaji style "Ek Ek ko chun chunk kr marunga"😆. At dat tym I hated the fact they colour co-ordinated Talli and Kesar😡. Chalo, this tym even Gullu is colour co-ordinated with Kesu so maaf kiya. Raise ur hands everyone who thinks dat KG looks superb in their red outfits throughout the serial(even Kesar's Red Kurta and Gullu's red lehenga during Talli's ring ceremony). Coming back to the scene, I just love when Gulaal enters and Kesar turns at the mention of Gulaal frm Talli. There is an eye talk b/w Talli's ramblings which r not even registered by her beloved Gulaal- seriously Talli in scene looks like a BG noise, dats the chemistry of GK.
When Gulaal talks to him while he is sitting on the bed, he is seriously avoiding trying to understand whatever she says obviously the anger has still not left him. When he walks to the window and Gulaal constantly keeps asking dat does he really not feel dat he had done anything wrong, he admits dat he feels dat he went overboard but then how cud he listen wen they talk abt "Gulaal"-(the essence of his being- he might accuse her of being a deceiver in front of her, to himself but not in front of anyone else *dats wy he talks double meaning words in front of others in front of others so dat only she gets the point and no one else has the slightest idea of wat he is talking abt*- its always been b/w him and her) so her immense respect and love for her had screamed out wen he says, "Main bardassht nahi kar sakta koi tere baare mein...". Gulaal choosing to remaining Galool to his possessive and obsessive nature towards her which has always been a constant from the day she had become a part of his life. Kesar smacking his hand after Gulaal left is my fav bit- just shows dat he knows he is wrong but he is still under the effect of the anger- helplessness of not getting a grip on himself. I seriously love how the window conversation scene was shot with the picture of the chotta Gulaal in between GK.
Talli and Gulaal scene- just a small take on Gulaal's words that ppl in luv can't come out with their feelings in open. Seriously Gulaal, u knw Kesar for so many years- leave it even a person who meets Kesar recently can say confidently that Kesar is a direct person in confessing his likes or dislikes. You've got no idea Galool, a guy like Kesar wen falls in luv wud scream out on top of his voice to make everyone known of his feelings...u r going to experience dat in tym to come.😆
MB-Dushy talks, overheard by Kesar. How many of u thought Kesar looked uber-cute in dat hairstyle??? I seriously hoped that they wud hav given him dat hairstyle in a few more scenes. Newez back to the scene, MB admitting that Kesu's anger his is weakness and good heartly, Dushyant agreeing wid his experience dat it takes a lot to admit ur faults. Kesar overhearing how disappointing his behaviour towards Gulaal has been. Here, I come back to wat Gulaal said- "Tu abhi gusse main hain, jab dimaag thanda ho jaaye tab baat karenge". Kesar is one of the nicest person wen he calms down- he is forgiving , tolerant and understanding- dat is wen he his own wrong doings hit him so hard dat he immediately has to do something to make it up. Kesar, now that he has cooled down understands the disappointment he has caused to everyone overhearing MB's talks- da same thing was said by Gulaal and he just plainly avoided him as he was angry- proving his anger is his worst enemy.
Thanks Jzee for the new thread. Will discuss about the 2nd scene tomorrow. BTW I loved the still YT chose for the 2nd scene with the title, it seems poetic and nostalgic!

Okay so I'd missed one scene from the clips in the list above, earlier - and have edited to add it now - just for the record, if you were wondering if I'd intentionally skipped it *ahem*

---

And now my turn gushing about the prime scenes here ☺️

As I promised, starting off with Kesar's self realization and remorse hitting scene. Of course the stand out factor - apart from the thoughtful selection of FBs as always, is the letter voice over. Trust NB to relay the overtones and undertones of the message as well as he does - starting off in that heartfelt manner wishing her birthday, asserting this sort of pride in knowing his gift is the best. And then the abrupt u-turn of grudge and cold vibes, as he declares he would never actually give the gift to her. And I love the way NB shows the next transition via his emoting, as he crushes that letter and looks at the set of bangles in a tender way - partly in remorse, and partly already advancing towards redemption as he makes up his mind. As always - so much relayed without the use of 'speech'.

***

The scene as he enters her room - the DOP is all out at working his magic in this scene. Right from the instant Kesar enters her room like a shadow - unbidden, unrecognized, yet known to be him, almost symbolic of the way he creeps back into her life after his reform later on - and then the way all that jing jang work on Gulaal's outfit glimmers in the slight wash of moonlight making her this shining angel who's captivating Kesar. And I love love love the way the camera rolls bottom up showing Kesar and his face right after this, the horizontal bars of that bed's woodwork rolling out - it's almost a horizontal version of how you'd see someone's face in an express train/metro, alternating between lit and dark areas outside! Of course, NB with that expression which is a blend of so many emotions at this point - partly drawn by the literal 'shine' of her person, partly having his own inner glow at taking this brand new step making peace with his angst and her, a huge leap of faith towards redemption - it just shines in his eyes like that, his devotion to this woman he just can bring himself to hate! And then that reflexive step back - as she turns over - he's such a vulnerable character at this point - can't show anyone the darkness inside his heart, and even when he resolves to reform, he can't just step up and say, look I'm becoming the good guy now! For someone who was SUCH a loudmouth as a kid, and continues to be the most blunt and candid character one could imagine, or even beyond - Kesar has this paradoxical reticent side to his raw emotions - all kind! And of course, just before leaving her room, he must turn back and look one last time again! Aww, this guy ☺️

***
Finally the morning scene when Gulaal finds the bangles. The stand out point for me - the ABSOLUTE stand out, is that moment they both look straight into each others eyes, both have their own versions of blank/impassive looks, and yet, the eyes are talking - both the pairs of eyes - and you just know, that she knows its him... its almost like he knows she knows as well - but I've never quite been able to make up my mind about whether he knows for certain here - the way her certainty is just plain evident - or whether he realizes better over time, watching her wear them at occasions in near future, especially the next "aur tu" scene - but he certainly doesn't seemed convinced of his own lie having convinced her, so its like he has this inkling, she knows. I find the jhumka scenario later (as I mentioned above too) just another version of this same situation. Kesar lies, and she knows he is, yet she takes it, and he knows she knows he's lied... and then those jhumkas just show up in her baggage later, and there are no words needed - just like she continues to wear these bangles right to the end, without any explicit mention about them, between GK ever again! Oh the subtlety of this script is phenomenal, sigh... miss it so! 😒

I also like the way Gulaal tells Talli in the end that Vasant used to get her the exact same kind - and Kesar's smile, and inner peace and happiness at his own gesture just multiplies and shines in his eyes! As we always say, the more she holds onto Vasant, the more he holds on to her! The simplicity of their bond in the complexity of its inception and evolution is ... one of a kind!

@ bits in bold - 🤣 Talli the BG sound to GK's silent conversation - Prachu, could you have said it any better!!! 🤣 👏 Fantastic point out! As for GK in that later ring ceremony scene - eeeh! You reminded me of that one again, sigh! I never really got over that dhol sequence, honestly, whatever anyone says about GV dhol sequence, and sure, Vasant/Rahil looked much more the dhol guy, but that GK scene was one of a kind in so many ways! And yes, they look divine in any combination of gulaal-kesar shades ☺️

Okay, so I don't think Gulaal was being Galool here in her exact elemental sense, but more in the mind where she sort of understands where Kesar's anger stems from, and wants him to see why it is still wrong - if not in intention, then at least in implementation. I honestly don't think she even gives a thought to his 'possessive' streak here - because she would expect nothing less even from the Kesar a decade ago, this just like him - so it doesn't alarm her in that intention, only his extent of execution, the way he beats up those guys, sort of unnerves her at how out of control he can get! And again I mention, I love the way she finally lays out his explicit mistake to him, in that one dialogue about fighting against a wrong, and going tit for tat for a wrong, with one of your own. That is the exact moment it hits Kesar, why he is in error. And for Gulaal to be the one to make hims see this sense - as apt as it gets!

Jzee and Prachurya, you guys have talked about all the aspects in such a beautiful way.loved reading them.In the first scene I felt for Talli to a certain extent here because she just is not able to understand what is going on.Both Kesar and Gulaal have always used her for their own selfish reasons and bechari, she always gets stuck in the middle. Here also her dhamki to Kesar was sad cause Kesar doesn't really care if she talks to him or not,he has eyes only for one person and that's Gulaal.Talli was so blinded by Gulaal's sapna that she could not sense Kesar's intense love and respect for Gulaal. If only the Cvs had not thrown her at us in every GK scene I could have sympathised with her plight.

I absolutely love Kesar in this scene.Neil was perfect in bringing out Kesar's anger, passion, helplessness, never once going out of control. As soon as Talli takes Gulaal's name he just focuses on her.I love the look that they exchange here.Kesar's intense look to her expresses so many emotions-love,longing,slight awkwardness wondering whether she has heard what he said and Gulaal for a change is completely out of her depth trying to avoid his gaze cause she is slightly scared of the implications of his actions.and my fav dialogue "nahi bardaasht hota..."with that beatiful and intense BG music makes me go all weak in the knees😳That's Kesar style-direct dil se-no mushy dialogues, just blunt, plain truth and I adore it😊What I love about Kesar is the fact that he remained so till the end.

that Talli-Gulaal scene,Gulaal being Galool😡She always does this.remember During the Kunal-Talli alliance drama Gulaal advises Talli to move on from her past and love the person who loves you and that would bring her happiness.yep that scene.I hit my head against a mental wall then here too I did the same😆

the second scene is also one of my favs.I loved Kesar's reaction to MB's dialogue. He is heartbroken. He feels so guilty remembering his rude behaviour towards Gulaal and so out comes the green bangles(they are quite pretty)and the letter(I loved that letter,he is so confident about his gift and knows that his gift would be her fav).and I noticed that Gulaal wears these bangles quite often and I love to think that she likes them because she knows it's a gift from Kesar(I may be wrong but please let me be under this illusion)😊but the way he creeps into her room-no sense of privacy at all and as you said Jzee very stalkerish.since it's fiction I love that scene and the way he looks at her😳Even though we don't get to see his face properly in the darkness we can clearly see the love for Gulaal and the regret for his harsh behaviour in his eyes.I am happy that Talli did not wear the bangles and forced Gulaal to wear the whole set.loved Kesar's reaction seeing her wear the bangles that he got for her.He is happy, content and so at peace.
love these two scenes a lot.
Jzee,Thanks for the wonderful post 👏and amazing description of the scenes.
Prachurya,loved reading your write up😃
