Loved reading the update and I was quite mad when it ended 😆

Precap sounds good, Khushi went to Nainital following Arnav, good going...

Part 9: I will follow you Eternity!

Waking up early was never a part of Khushi's daily schedule since she slept quiet early. Early in the morning! So that night she surprised herself by falling sleep by 11 PM, since her mind was over worked with thoughts and ideas. Needless to say, her restless soul didn't permit her to enjoy her 8 hours of sleep, she woke up at 5 in the Morning!

Something about the morning told her, things around her, and the air around her was just not right! She felt extremely uncomfortable with the idea that Arnav was this far away now and she had even lost the freedom to call him! Feeling numb from inside, she decided a shower would do her good! Again an oddity. She never showered before evening on a normal day since she believed in watching movies, playing games and chilling with her family before getting yelled at by her dad atleast three times for not having a bath !!!

Wow Khushi !! Even mom wouldnt have woken up !!! Now's a good time to go for a jog and think over this she told herself ... But as she was about to get outta the bed, thoughts of Arnav once more filled her imagination, almost fixing her to her bed, as though chaining her down !!! She looked at her phone. there had not been a single call from him since yesterday! This was not the Arnav she knew, why was he doing this to her? Why didnt he want to talk to her , tell her he was not here. Was he really more worried about his own brother than he was for her? Was she doing the right thing, by letting her thoughts run wild ! Should she actually give this Shyam guy a chance?

Breaking her thoughts, the door of her room opened, and her mother walked in with a plate of Aarti ...

"Khushi beta uth jaao ... tumhe jaldi tayar hona hai aaj ..."

Garima had been pleasantly surprised to see Khushi up sitting on her bed, in deep thought, making faces thinking to herself ...

"Arey meri gudiya rani itni jaldi uth gayi aaj...???" Garima walked upto Khushi and kissed her forehead !! Khushi hugged her mother as the mother caressed her and said .. "jaanti hai Khushi, aisa kab hota hai ...(teasingly)

Kh: Ma please ... ( said Khushi annoyed yet embarrassed) ...

Ga: Accha theek hai ... lekin, yeh bhagwaan ka ishaara hai, ke meri beti sudhar rahi hai ...

Kh: ab maine kya kiya hai (irritated)

Ga: Kal raat ko unka phone aaya tha ...

Kh: kinka ... (getting riled up with her mother for playing havoc with her head ...)

Ga: arey... tumhare sasuraal waalo ka ...

Khushi literally had tears swimming in herr eyes at the mention of the word sasural. Why had her mother already made up her mind that Khushi would say yes to the whole thing? Why was she already even joking about it. This was so frustrating.Her mother would now never even allow her a chance to speak her heart out ...
As Khushi thought on Garima spoke on ...

"Shyam ko tum bahut pasand aayi ho ... aur suna hai, woh kal Shaam ko Hi India aa gaya tha, aur aaj woh tumse milne aa raha hai ..."

Kya????? Exclaimed Khushi in utmost horror !!! "par, amma, unhone toh kaha tha ... ke woh ..."

Garima suddenly noticed a change in her daughters tone, as this was the first time in ages Khushi had addressed her as Amma, and she knew, that happened only when Khushi was worried ... Mom, Ma, Me were words she had picked up over her teen years, but Khushi had learnt to call her mother Amma ever since she had been a child ...

Ga: (holding her chin) tumhe shyam pasand nahi hai kya Khushi?

Kh: main usey mili hi kahan hoon... aur fir, ajeeb lagta hai yeh sab ... I mean, aap, itne short notice pe ... mujhe nahi pata ...

Ga: aisi cheeze kabhi kabhi, aise hi hote hai ... warna socho, tumhara yoon jaldi uthna, mujhse itne pyaar se baat karna, aur fir mujhe amma bulana, har roz thodi hoti hai ...!!

Khushi doesnt know what to say, but to go quiet on her mother who seems to have made the wrong sense of it all !! She didnt want to meet Shyam ever, but now she was to meet him the very same day? No way !!! God, make me disappear ...!!

Maine tumhari dost Shraddha ko bulaya hai, woh aake tumhe tayar kar degi ... !!

"yeh sab kab hua ...

Ga: tum kal raat ko so gayi thi na, toh uske baad hi unka phone aaya, aur humne tum dono ka milne tey kar dia ... chalo chalo .. ab, jaldi se tayar ho jaao ...Babuji tumhare liye ek Pooja karna chahte hai taake sab acchey se ho jaaye ...

Garima leaves the room, leaving Khushi no other option but to turn obstinate ...

Her mother's words resounded in her head ..." aisi cheeze kabhi kabhi, aise hi hote hai ... warna socho, tumhara yoon jaldi uthna, mujhse itne pyaar se baat karna, aur fir mujhe amma bulana, har roz thodi hoti hai ...!!

Why didnt her mother realise the reason why she did all this was valid enough, but not what her mother thought-the reason was Arnav!

"Mujhe tayar nahi hona, aane do usey, aise hi baithi rahoongi .. milley mujhe aise hi ...mujhe aise dekhega toh darr ke bhaag jayega ...yess !!!! "she told herself.

A few hours later, contrary to what she had imagined, Shraddha was actually dressing Khushi up, in a gaudy bright pink suit, with a kundan neck piece and heavy earrings !!!

"No way ! Main choodiyan nahi pehenoongi ... They make too much noise !!!! Please ..." reacted Khushi ... Just hate them !!!

A while later...

Khushi was sitting awkwardly in front of Shyam, who she had met earlieer on many occasions but never thought would have to face him in new light. The way he looked at her and smiled just seemed to piss her off even more .. She knew, he was pretend to fiddle with his mobile, but was slyly taking her picture, and if she were not instructed by her mom, she would have yelled at the guy for trying to do whatever he was ...

"Khushi ji" he began, which put her off on word go ( Reject she said, who says Jee, and why the hell was he behaving like she were some National Award winner )

"Call me Khushi Shaam," she said confidently !

"yeh main aapke liye laaya tha ..." He hands over a small gift box...

Elsewhere in Naintital ...

Arnav was passing through a flee market, and saw a bunch of wooden bangles which looked really nice. He instantly thought of Khushi, he didnt know why ... woh toh kabhi chudiyan pehenti hi nahi hai ... Thinking of her drifts him off into thoughts, and pleasant ones for a change today ! Ever since he had come here he had been thinking about Khushi differently. As though staying at home had confined and defined his feelings for her within the boundaries of friendship since he had to show her just that... But here he was unfettered and he knew, he could love her with all his heart ...

He walks away ...

Back Home: Gupta House

"Wow diamond bangles ... !!! They would look better on my friend Shraddha, she will love them, would you mind if i give her one, actually, hum dono ko har cheez share karne ki aadaat hai ..."

Shyam smiled awkwardly and nodded ...

Khushi took the bangles and put them aside ... and then she said ...

Kh: Kaisa tha tumhara flight? Michelle kaisi hai? Still in touch with her???

Shyam's face grew uncomfortable ... " she is now married, she has a kid as well... "

Kh: Oh !!! what went wrong?

Shyam: issues happened Khushi, aur Arnav, woh kaisa hai ????

Khushi suddenly turned silent at this mention and looked away. Today the mere mention of Arnav was bringing tears to her eyes .. and before she could answer it... He asked her again ...

"tum abhi bhi waisi ki waisi ho jaise school me thi ..."

Kh: obv, its the same me !!

Sh: ofcourse .. ofcourse ...

Kh: Shyam, Let me be honest, I am feeling extremely weird about this whole meeting, main ready nahi thi, aur fir mujhe...

Sh: dont worry Khushi, main bhi hafte main 4 din ladkiyo ko milne ka agenda banake nahi ghoomta hoon.. and he laughed at his own joke while Khushi didnt react...

And then there was prolonged silence before Garima came in with a plate of Jalebis, which she served and said ... "yeh Khushi ne banayi hai ..."

Khushi stared at her mother in shock and horror ... The jalebis however reminded her of Arnav ...

Nainital Home:

Arnav sat at the table fiddling with the Jalebis ... as Madhumati Bua, a sweet, affectionate mother like figure walked upto him and asked him ...

"Kya hua Arnav beta, tum yeh kha kyun nahi rahey ho ... aur ab batao, achanak tumne aise aane ka plan kaise bana liya ..."

Kuch nahi bua, bas mann kiya ke main aa jaun, Ma ki bahut yaad aa rahi thi ...

"Aur tab jake tumko apni bua ki yaad aayi hai na?"

Aisi koi baat nahi hai ...

"Bachpan main bhi tum aise hi, mere paas aa jaya karte the, jab bhi tumhe koi baat pareshaan kiya karti thi ... aur fir, jawab tumhe khud mil jaata tha, aur tum theek ho jaate the ..."

Ar: haan bua, lekin iss baar, mujhe koi jawab nahi milne wala, infact, main bas un sawalo aur jawabo se bachne ke liye hi aapke paas aaya hoon ...

Bua: pehle toh, yeh batao ... iss baar tumhe kiss baat ki chinta khaaye jaa rahi hai ... kono ladki ka maamla hai kaa...

Ar: ladki toh humesha se, ek hi thi ...

Bua: Khusi ...

Ar: ji ...

Bua: dekho Arnav, jab tak tum apni dil ki baat ussey keh nahi dete, woh ladki samjhegi kaise ... you have to take a chance baccha ...

Ar: maine toh socha tha, kabhi na kabhi, kisi na kisi din uske yeh baat samajh ayegi Bua, lekin ab lagta hai, koi chance nahi hai ...

Bua: Kyun? aisa kya ho gaya?

Ar: uski shaadi hone waali... ( looks away)

Bua: itni si baat, kabhi kabhi, ladkiyan shadi ki naam se aise darr jaati hai, unko dil main chupe jazbaat bahar nikal aate hai .. aur jab bhi maine tum dono ko saath main dekha hai, maine humesha tum dono main woh pyaar dekha hai jo do jeevan saathi main honi chahiye ...

Ar: kash usko bhi aisa lagta bua ... woh toh!! khair .. rehne deejiye .. main chalta hoon.. Library main indexing bhi toh karni hai na ..aaj hi se shuruwad karta hoon ...

As Arnav stands up to leave, Bua looks at him feeling bad for her nephew who has always been bad at expressing emotions.

Gupta House:

Shashi comes to sit with Khushi who is gleeful at the thought that her attitude and behavior may have surely ticked Shyam off. She had been happy most afternoon, after having accomplished what she wanted. She had also told Shyam about how she loooved waking up at 12 in the morning, bathing once in three days and also was insanely in love with her bath-tub where she spent more than 3 hours a day just listening to music and watching movies in there! She knew, for a man of moderate living in the US, all these things would be sufficient enough to tick the person off !!! Besides the felt talking of Michelle was her master-stroke ! No one likes to be reminded of their ex-lovers!!

However, contrary to what she had expected, Shashi broke the news to her that Shyam had totally loved Khushi, because, he felt the child in her was what made her a worthy companion !

"Main thehra aaj ka ladka, agar, main kisi aur se shaadi karloon toh uske saath adjust karne main aur zyada time lagega, aur fir, Khushi ka openness, frankness aur honesty mujhe bahut pasand aaye" he had explained to his parents who had dutifully chinese whispered the same to the Guptas with a few other sugar quoted lines...

Papa, mujhe kuch paise milenge, Khushi asked her dad...

Shashi was a little taken aback at this question ... He nodded... He would never ask his daughters why they asked for money, since he knew they would never waste any! Both his daughters had been very well brought up, and he knew they would never mis-use anything... Besides, today was a happy day! His daughter had been chosen by someone.. He had always been worried who would marry Khushi as she was after all a very sensitive girl, who had her own rules of living ! Shashi felt, Shyam was an apt choice for her daughter! he had been meaning to ask her, if she liked Shyam too, but Khushi's question had changed the topic!!!

Looking at her father, she said ... "Main aapko shaam ko milti hoon ..."

Khushi had it all chalked out ... "She would catch a 4 PM flight to Nainital- talk to Arnav about her feelings- gauge his reactions-whatever they would be-she wanted to get them off her chest as she hadd been bursting!!!" the next flight was at 8:30 PM, she would catch that and come back home by around 10:30 and tell her parents she had gone out with her friends. Since she had turned 18, her parents had allowed her a curfew time of 11 PM.

She quickly headed for the airport, where she bought a ticket in a hurry, though her heart was pounding at jet speed. Then she collided into someone, in a hurry, apologised and rushed into the plane for Nainital ! The only mistake she made was not bothering to look at who she had bumped into !!

Manorama Mami had just returned from Lucknow, and was on her way home! But before she visited the Raizada's, to her meeting the Guptas had almost become like a habit. Shashi was like her brother, and she had always wanted Payal for her son Akash!!! Manorama detested Khushi and her over friendl-ness with the boys of the house!!!

A while later...

Arnav had been sitting in the Library making a list of the books, with his thoughts drifted off into memories and days spent with Khushi !!! Coming away from home, and giving his thoughts a clarity allowed him to think of all the hidden feelings he had for her.. He pulled out his wallet and looked at the picture they had both taken together at a fare ! Her goofy face brought an instant smile to his face !!! "Khushi ... he said.. as he looked at herr, and leaned back against his chair ... "kaise reh paunga tumhare bagair ..."

"Tum mujhe bina bataye chale kyun aaye" said a voice ...!!

"Was it Khushi????

Arnav didnt bother to look up as he thought he was hallucinating ...!!

He could hear the footsteps grow louder before a person walked in front of him and shut the book with force from the other side of the table... He looked up, it was Khushi ...

"Mujhe tumse baat karni hai ..."

Arnav looked at herr for a moment not believing what he saw... BUT on having registered things around him, he said .. "chali jao Khushi ... Kyun aayi ho tum yahan... tumhe yahan nahi hona chahiye ... Garima aunty ko pata hai ke tum yahan ho..????"

he takes his phone as though to dail, when Khushi pulls the phone away from him and says ... "unse bhi baat karlena... pehle tum mere saath chalo ... hume baat karni hai "

Precap: Sitting by the lake, Arnav and Khushi are silent. The thought hadnt yet sunk in. Arnav put his hands into his pocket, to feel something, He slowly pulled them out and looked at them half. They were the wooden bangles he had picked up for her after all. Should he give them to her? With having so much said and lots more unsaid Both of them were clueless as to where life was heading now.
