How much ever we like it or not, public voting is a reality today and its here to stay! Yes, the things that we can change is - just have an 8 hour window for the voting (say for SRGMP, have the performance on Thursday and declare results on Friday).. accept only one vote from a cell phone, IP (for net voting) etc.. and make it toll-free, is possible... and yes, as suggested by Shady - follow the Nach Baliye format - rank the contestants 1 to 10 based on both judges and public verdict.. combine the 2 to have the final ranking... and for the judges, have a consistent set of judges over the weeks - so that we have standard and relatively fair decision for all...
Sounds just too ideal! But atleast think of the ideal, and we will land up with a 50% deviation from the same!!
