There have been innumerable posts on lust. Is Arnav in lust? Somehow, if he touches her, he is being lustful. What is the difference between ASR and Shyam if they just want Khushi. *head desk*

This my definition of lust - it is to want someone for their body - no more no less.

Hey Anu - who do you think you are giving out definitions? FIne fine, I defer to Webster and Mr. Wikijaan:

Webster: intense or unbridled sexual desire : lasciviousness
Given the nature of the forum lately, I also include the definition of lust as described for kids by Webster's: sexual desire especially if strong or uncontrolled

Wikipedia: Lust is an emotional force that is directly associated with the thinking or fantasizing about one's desire, usually in a sexual way.

So, now in all of the dealings that ArHi have had in what way shape or form have we seen Arnav thinking of Khushi with unbridled sexual desire??? Was it when he fell during rangoli - if that was lust, I need to reroll the footage because that looked like a man who landed in rangoli. Was it when he stroked her face while she was ill? I thought that kind of look tender? Or more recently - was it when he was unraveling the lights? Here I will say that he did look at her with desire but I think it was more to mess with Khushi more than anything else. When he has been alone to his own thoughts, the man has only thought about her face and he has flashbacked to totally non-sexual moments...her with mitti in her eye, she crying in the hospital. I cannot say at all that this man is in lust with Khushi, love very much, but not lust. Additionally, we can also say that he is not in lust or love with La either. So, please, can we end the discussion of Arnav and lust. He is attracted, but not all attraction is lust.

Now to Shyam. All I will say is that the only thing that comes out of this man's mouth is that he has to have her. He is not at all interested that she doesn't want to get married to him. He will by hook, crook, murder, and deceit do anything to have her. He only remembers her and the way she was dressed. His need for Khushi is lust. His intent is to have her - her feelings take a back seat.

ASR's intent is to understand what the MUTUAL attraction they both can feel is. And if by the stroke on her cheek or by the flick of her flyaway hair, Khushi responds - it does not make it lust - it makes it mutual chemistry.

Awesome n most needed post at this moment😊

Lust is a strong desire for someone, most probably for their body , such thing will end as soon as the desire is completed.
Love is somewhat different, love also compell people to get physically closer, but the closeness here increases the love.
The feeling of Arnav for Khushi is not at all lust, it is just an attraction out of love.
The difference between Arnav's and Shyam's feelings can be depicted in a single example,
When Khushi's father was hospitalised Arnav was there to console Khushi not to impress her, he was able to feel her pain, tears n all, while Shyam was pretending to be there to impress all. He was blind towards Khushi's pain.

Well said!

Though I still feel that the creatives have left Shyam's obsession with Khushi a bit too foggy for me to comprehend.
What exactly does he see in her to lust after her so much?!

Arnav certainly does not protray any signs of lust. From the top of my head, the one incident that comes to my mind is when Arnav gently put his hand on Khushis head to support her through her Bauji's heart attack and even when Khushi hugged him, he did not take advantage of her weakness because if he did lust her, he couldve easily hugged her back. On the other hand, Shyam lusts her (though we havent seen much of that side of his, but im sure it'll come). When Khushi was sad and griefing over her Bauji's heart attack, all he thought about was how he can get his fake pain across and recently, he held her hand at the first oppotunity he got. Thats gross and lusty :)
Arnav and Khushi share something very beatuiful/magical and we should refrain and not name it with something so low, such as lust.
Nice post :)

Anu thanks a bunch for opening this topic and the forum needed this badly.
I cant see arnav keeping his hand on her head when she cries and assuring her that he is there for her as LUST and each time arnav asking her "tum teek ho" shows his concern and i dont see any lust there either.
If arnav's feelings towards khushi is lust, then i dont know what love is?😕

Agreed, completely and totally with everything you've said, Anu! Arnav has never once thought of Khushi in any way she could find objectionable. Simply because he's touched her, because he's held her, it does not mean that lust is all he's ever felt. When a person touches another, they can express a lot of different emotions through that, they can mean a lot of things. And not one of them has to be of a sexual nature.

I think he feels a strong attraction to her, and absolutely desires her. So much so that his avoidance of physical contact with her almost always ended up in angry physical contact. That's NOT a man who is only avoiding his feelings of love. 😆 And, I think it's sweet. He loves her completely.. it's whole and pure in all the ways love between a man and a woman. Not like that psycho one track obsession Shayam has. So good for Arnav, if he's having some secret thoughts also. 😉 There is no doubt he would also slay dragons for her.

In fact at this point in the story there is no doubt in it that Arnav is in love with Khushi.

Him paying her hospital bills, the silver coins for Dhanteras and the mitti-blowing out of her eye incidents are good examples that show how much he cares for her. This is no longer a physical attraction only.
