Jackqueline replaces Sonakshi in Race 2

She made headlines when she was roped in to play the female lead opposite Hrithik Roshan in Krrish 3 (Mumbai Mirror, August 19, 2011). And just when the Rakesh Roshan production was being referred to as Jacqueline Fernandez's next big project after Murder 2, Mumbai Mirror reported on October 22 that the actress's refusal to lock lips with Hrithik in the film cost her the coveted role. But according to a source, the actress has already been offered another equally desirable role, which was originally offered to Sonakshi Sinha, in Ramesh Taurani's production Race 2.

The source informed us that as soon as the director duo Abbas-Mustan and producer Ramesh Taurani learned that Jacqueline was out of Krrish 3, they immediately contacted the actress to offer her a role in Race 2. "Sonakshi was initially brought on-board for the same role. But since she cited date issues as a reason to opt out, the filmmakers were in search of a replacement. And so, Jacqueline has been roped in to essay the role," said the source.

The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham.

When contacted, Ramesh Taurani confirmed, "Yes, we have signed Jacqueline in place of Sonakshi. We start shooting in November." Jacqueline, however, remained unavailable for comment.
