I went through yesterday and today's episode.
In total, Arnav had 5 lines to Khushi. In 44 minutes of the show, 5 lines.
1 - the line about paying for her and rectifying his accountant's wrong
2 - he knows she can pay but it would be a problem for her
3 - was she saying something (when she was speaking to him thinking he is a cleaner)
4 - how is her father
5 - indirectly to her but to Anjali - I destroyed the vase
That's it. Why does it feel like so much more has been said. We are on the brink of a new story between ArHi, brilliantly showcased by the CV's by bringing back the dargah song which ushered in the first part of our story (nafrat). How different the song felt this time. We are here not because of conversation, but because of actions taken, words unspoken.
In that one hug, in that one pat on the head, they have both found an understanding. They have both acknowledged something very secret - "I get you".
Arnav has managed to convey in the last two days his realization that he understands what makes Khushi Kumari Gupta happy and sad. He has acknowledged to himself, that he knows what she yearns for. And he has admitted to himself that making her happy, makes him happy and seeing her troubled, troubles him. And he has conveyed it all in silence.
The pat on the head. EPIC. The stone hearted rakshas is there to protect you. He is there when you need him. Today, when he took the blame for the vase, he showed her that with his temper, he also has compassion for a young woman going through a very trying time. He didn't snitch, he just non chalantly took to the blame, said no big deal Di. His heart is not of stone, it beats behind barbed wire.
He understands her struggle. Although the entire coin in the packet thing was contrived, I didn't care. It showcased how Arnav Singh Raizada does good and doesn't care if he gets credit for it. It was more important for him to fulfill this wish for a young woman who would not take handout. It shows that he is who he is for noone else but himself. It shows, when it comes to Khushi, he is sensitive, he finds it necessary to ease her hardships, fulfill her wishes. It also shows he gets her. We have quietly come to the realization with him.
P.S. - I loved Khushi's reflection on Arnav when Payal asked who in the world would put up with her and live up to her dreams. They are growing closer.
