Club Encore, the exclusive 'members only' music club that hosts a la-di-dah event every two months, was relaunched after a gap of 11 months. And given the special nature of the occasion, Bollywood's most popular male singer, Sonu Nigam, was flown in from Mumbai to entertain the guests. The ballroom of the Habtoor Grand was decorated with candles spreading their dreamy glow and colourful flower petals strewn on the tables.
A new look and ambience awaited the influential members of Club Encore, who streamed into the foyer walking down the red carpet. They were greeted by pretty hostesses who escorted them to the ballroom. Traditional outfits and bright colours filled up the venue.
Chimoo Acharya of L'atitude, which is now a partner with Club Encore, made a short speech in which she promised to take Club Encore to new heights. She also expressed her thanks to Jyoti Karmali, who was earlier a partner in Club Encore and was largely credited with developing the idea of an exclusive music club.
Sonu was in his element as he sang one hit song after another continuously for three hours. Amongst the numbers that drew maximum applause were Suraj Huva Maddham, Mera Rang De Basanti Chola, Sun Zara and Gumshuda.
