Many young television actresses say, they have no plans to take up daily soaps
Although, there is a substantial bunch of audiences who are fade up of the 'saas-bahu' dramas and 'rona-dhona' that bang on their head every night after a whole day's work, these daily soaps still are ruling the TRP charts, and should ideally be any television actor's dream destination. But surprisingly, there is a series of young actresses who show no interest in being part of any of such show, no matter how big they are.
Kritika Kamra, who is lead in 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' is one of this 'Not game for daily-soaps' list. She says, "I doubt whether I ever will be able to essay those ladies trapped in kitchen politics! I think I'm too young to experiment on that, at least for a while I don't see my self in any of such shows." Same is the case for comedian Sugandha Mishra, who debuted as an actress with 'Don't worry Chachu'. She sounds firm as she expresses, "I don't think I'll ever be able to relate to such shows. They appear too superficial and away from what happens in daily life. I took up acting because I love making people laugh and bringing smile on their faces. And I don't see any scope for that in the daily soaps where 'rona-dhona' is one of the prime requirements." Purvi Doshi is another such TV diva who is now heading on her way to big screen with Himesh Reshmmiya's 'Damadamm'. But even though she is fulfilling her Bollywood dream, it doesn't mean that she won't do television, but when you ask that now as she is in the 'lead actress mood', is she also ready to play lead if a daily soap offer comes, and she simply says, "I never was ready for such shows and never will be ready".
