Can Vidya play Silk Smitha?

Hi Friends I dont know whether this question was asked earlier or not. I have watched the Dirty Picture promos & also know that Vidya is playing Silk Smitha. I have seen Silks movies also, I mean she usually played an cabre dancer role and vamp roles in Tamil movies in 80s.

Vidya is definitely a wonderful actress infact she is arguably the best actress in terms of her acting skills. But this is a very challenging role to do.

Factors in Vidya's favour:

We cannot expect Vidya to look like Silk. That is impossible. They are 2 different people. This is a autobiographical film and Vidya is only suppose to portray her lifestyle, her walk, her talk and show us what happened to silk and what happened to Silk and why she died.

Probably she is the only Bollywood actress right now who has the acting ability to pull off this biopic.

Factors against Vidya:

Vidya doesnt resemble Silk in any way. She doesnt have the look, she looks too sweet while silk smitha had a vulgar look and offensive persona. Vidya is trying to hard to get those "sexy expressions" which were natural in Silk. She lacks the sex appeal.

So what do u guys think? Can she pull it off well? Do u have any other actress (bollywood or South) in mind who could have done a better job? Do reply😊

Vidya has never looked so sexy before. She looks friggin sensuous in the trailers. If not Vidya, then I really cant imagine anyone else in bollywood playing Silk.

well yeh, silk smita looked kinda raw and unpolished, while vidya looks a bit too sophisticated i guess for the part...

but thts just a minor gripe...as far as wht i can see from the promos, shes not looking conscious, got the expressions and the body lauguage bang on and looks every bit of the po*n star shes meant to portray...

so far its looking good...

From the promos I think she's doing a good job in the role.

I really don't know who else among Bollywood actors could have played the role though.

i loved the trailer...obviously she cant look just like someone else but i tihnk shell do a good job with the character

yeah why not...I don't think the role is that difficult. Anyone who has acting chops and is sexy can do the role.

yup either Vidya or Kangana, but Kangana's way to thin if she gained some weight, but I don't think any of the other actresses that can act would have the guts to act in this role.

vidya is a good actor! she has the guts to play such a role! offcourse she is not like silk in any way, but she has the talent to play her! I can only see vidya playing silk, and I am really looking forward for this movie!
