Miss hard working!

Who wants to work extra hard for a one-off award function song performance when one is working 12 hours every day for a daily soap?

Not many and certainly not Ankita Lokhande. She was initially supposed to perform on a classical number Manmohini from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam for a TV award function to be telecasted next week on Star Plus.

Though Ankita is known for her talent in dancing as seen in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa early this year, she however requested the choreographer and event creative head to give her a modern song which could be rehearsed easily.

Finally, she was given Dhunki Laagi number from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Ankita learnt her steps in a few days before performing on stage. Moral of the story — why take a classical route when a modern easy number serves the purpose!

That's our Ankita being herself! She knows what she wants and what she can handle. Nothing tried, nothing gained! No harm in asking for something you know you can handle, instead of accepting what's given to you, if that is a bit much for you at that time. The most they can tell you is "no". Fortunately for Ankita, they said "yes"!👍🏼

Who can say that a modern song can be easy to dance on. It can be very challenging too especially if you are not trained.
maybe Ankita was just bored of repeatedly doing classical numbers. She is a graceful dancer and looks natural with classical numbers. She has not done much contemporary etc and maybe wanted to try out something new. What is the harm in it?
Good for you Ankita. Just ignore the bashers and try out whatever you want. How else will you learn? Life is not about winning all the time. It is about taking up new challenges. And failure is also part of a learning process. I hope Ankita rocked with her performance! All the very best to her.
