On April 23, while his daughter Ekta Kapoor was paying homage at the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer, her father Jeetendra was having a meeting with Dr Lalit Panwar, principal secretary, Urban Developement, Government of Rajasthan, in regard to his two proposals: a suitable site for a five star hotel in Jaipur for his daughter's Balaji Telefilms, the noted production house for popular TV serials as well as 2.300 acres of land for the city on behalf of the Australian Company: Dony & Day, having alliance with Balaji Telefilms. Jeetendra and Dr Panwar discussed alternative locations for both the proposals. Suneel Kumar, member of Filmcity empowered committee too was present on the occasion. Jeetendra also had a detailed information about the proposed filmcity at Jaipur.
Jaipur dancers perform at Commonwealth GamesSeven youngsters who were picked up for performance at the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony, were essentially learning dance at Shiamak Davar's dance workshop at Jaipur. Around 250 dancers from India participated in the closing ceremony of the games. The group performed three songs at the ceremony with Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji and Aishwarya Rai. The dancers also gave performance in rendering of the theme song 'Dilli chalna hai chal-chal ...' along with Shiamak Davar, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghosal and Sunidhi Chowhan. Rajasthani film Preet Ne Jane Reet, produced under the banner of Aruneel Films by Arvind Kumar and directed by Bakul Soni, was releaed at theatres in Kishangarh and Beawar, as per schedule. It stars Neelu, Arvind Kumar, Shirish Kumar, Jagdish Vyas, Vijaya Rajasthani, Mohan Kataria, Jaya Khatri, Jasmine and Kuldeep Indora in key roles. However, the film is yet to be released at any theatre in Jaipur. Jethwa Ujalee begins
Jethwa Ujalee is one of the prominent love stories of Rajasthan. For the first time, the story will be presented on celluloid by Jodhpur's film producer Shantiraj Jain. The director is veteran musician-lyricist BL Mathur. All the songs for the film were recently recorded in Mumbai in the voices of Kavita Krishnamoorti, MD Aziz, Poornima, Anupama Deshpande and Mitalee. Theatre artist Zubair Ali, Anita Solanki, Babulal Bohra and Dr VN Sharma will act in key roles in the film which will be shot at locations in Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner and Udaipur soon.
Artistes visit dargah
Actor Anil Kapoor, accompanied by his wife Sunita Kapoor and daughter Sonam, visited the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti to pay obeisance at the Sufi saint's mazaar. Visiting the dargah for the first time, the Kapoors were here to pray for the success of brother Boney Kapoor's new film as well as Sonam's debut in Subhash Ghai's Sanwariya with Rishi Kapoor's son Ranvir Kapoor. A week earlier, on April 16, Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor prayed for the success of their new serials Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka and Kasamh Se. She offered chadars on behalf her father Jeetendra and brother Tushar.
Also music director Bappi Lahiri visited the dargah to pray for the success of his forthcoming film's music and video. Talking to the media personnel at Ajmer, he said, "It was his first visit to the dargah and he had never experienced so much peace and spirituality before, as he had received at the dargah." He added that he has contributed music for the just released film Taxi No 9211 which is being admired by the people.
