Part 158: the wings of imagination
Dev went to Delhi for four days to finalize the project work on the factory. It was day 2 and Ruhi was playing around for not doing her stuffs. Sushma got tired of running behind her, and she stopped by saying: Next time even if your dadi is busy there, I will send you with your papa, no excuse.
"chuchuma, come"
The ready to run little energy bundle try to give a poke.
Sushma saw Radhika coming with kheer in her hand: Radhika, don't bring anymore, I can't have it all, see I am getting tired after eating all these and then running after her. looking at Ruhi And look at her who suppose to eat all these, nothing goes inside, but has full energy to run all over chandenpur.
Radhika with a smile: Buva, maybe while playing around she may take couple of spoons
Sushma sitting back: um, she may take couple of spoon and her chuchuma finish it in couple of gulps, that is the all time excuse, right.
Radhika: I need to make her to eat something, she didn't eat anything today then walking towards Ruhi: beta, one spoon, ok, just one spoon
Sushma seeing the playful smile on Ruhi's face: there she goes, the smile comes, means she is ready to run.
Ruhi and Rahika's tail chase went for sometimes, and later sushma took the empty bowl in wiping her lips thinking: why Radhika has to make it so good all the time, that I don't feel like wasting it.
It was late evening Radhika was giving a quick bath to Ruhi, and was trying to convince her,
Radhika drying the little one's body : will you?
Ruhi nodded her head in agreement
"but RAdhika don't know stories" Ruhi said as she walked out with Radhika to change into her sleepwear
While dressing her up for the bed, Radhika: If Radhika's ruhi eat good, then radhika can tell you a story"
Ruhi smiled looking at her: pakka
Radhika brought her chin down affirming it: um
Ruhi: just like papa
Touching her chin: ok baba
Radhika going to tell me a story. Now I am feeling hungry
Ruhi ran and got the book, and said: read it
Radhika looking at the big book: this!!
Ruhi sitting onto the bed: um, you promised
Radhika getting up: first you come with me and let's have dinner and then mamma will tell you a story
Ruhi: story first
Radhika: Ruhi
Ruhi: story first
Radhika losing her patience: then I am not going to tell you any story, you need to eat first, then I will tell you a story

Radhika taking the book away: ha, bad Radhika, now come, I have so much things to do and
Radhika just picked her up and went down mumbling on her pending works around...
The argument went on while Radhika was trying to force the small rounds in her mouth.
Finally they got back into the room. Ruhi was sitting silently in bed, and her face was looking so heavy, Radhika was settling herself while watching her little ones face closely.
When she came back, she saw her little one trying to snuggle under the comfy by herself.
Radhika laying next to her, tapped on her shoulder. Ruhi didn't say anything and remained silent. After few minutes of silence, Ruhi: I want papa
Radhika felt the wetness in her little ones throat
Ruhi went again: I want papa
Radhika trying to turn her towards her: Ruhi
Ruhi: ruhi wants papa
Radhika realized how deeply she is missing her moment with her papa.
Radhika: you want to talk to him?
Rui: no, Ruhi wants papa now
Radhika heard the little cry coming out from her throat. Sitting up in bed, she tried to lift her in her arms, Ruhi clinging onto her shoulder,: Ruhi wants papa
Radhika just got up from the bed and took few walks back and forth, with a rhythmic shake to get her into sleep
But only the time ticked away, the little ones request continued.
Radhika looked at the late night clock. How many times I called him today, he himself made those calls to convince Ruhi to eat, and talking to him, complaining about everyone she gulped few in. Now, what do I do?
Radhika stopped near the window to open those closed flaps as she wanted the breeze to cool her little one. Radhika 's skin felt cold as the fresh comfy wind circled around. Taking few more walks, she stopped near the window again and her eyes caught the twinkling stars upon that dark sky , through the thickness of woods in far. Radhika paused for a moment, giving a semi circular twist to her body , and it reminded her of Dev's story, and slowly a smile appeared on her face
Radhika with a smily eyes: Ruhi, do you want to hear a story?
Rhi: no Ruhi wants papa
Radhika: so now you don't want a story
Ruhi: papa
Radhika came out from her room and went to the terrace. Ruhi kept her head resting on her shoulder still.
Radhika looked outside, up above the sky and slowly moved her throat with a humming: twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are, Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky, twinkle twinkle little staar!!!!!

Ruhi kept looking at her mom's face and then: mom, you know it!!
Radhika kept silent giving her an attitude
Ruhi: papa sing it too
Radhika: I know, and what he sings..
Radhika remembering that scene
Ruhi" papa sing, twinkle twinkle star
Dev: what twinkle twinkle
Ruhi: Dadi taught Ruhi today, sing it,
Dev: papa don't know beta
Ruhi's papa knows it, dadi told Ruhi, sing ,
Dev: ruhi
Ruhi: twinkle twinkle
Dev: um, now you only sing
Ruhi: no papa, Ruhi don't know, papa sing
Dev failing to convince her started his try: twinkle twinkle little star
Then the silence
RUhi: um papa
Silence
"papa"
Dev with a smile: ok, here you go, twinkle twinkle little star, look at my little RUhi star, twinkling twinkling all the time, papa's little sweet princess, RUi RUhi papa's RUhi, twinkling twinkling all around
RUhi smiling wide: no papa, the same song
Then the song came out in its different version with their laughter and giggles around..
Ruhi clapped her hand loud: papa don't know, dadi knows it and Ruhi's mama knows it too.
Radhika smiled: now you happy
Ruhi: sing again
Radhika tried to hum it again.
Ruhi tried to repeat
Soon Radhika lay on that little couch with her little one, clinging onto her , ruhi: mamma, tell me a story
Radhika: which one
Ruhi: story of that boy who loved that sparkly star
Radhika: um
Ruhi Please mamma, Ruhi don't know what happens after the boy went to sleep.
Radhika remembered it: Dev telling the story and when it comes to that point he wants RUhi to sleep, or else he will keep on telling
Then the boy went to sleep, sleep , sleep
Ruhi: ha papa, then
Dev: no the boy is not slept yet, it is still dark out, first the boy has to sleep, you also close your eyes and say sleep, sleep and by the time he go into his deep sleep and somehow RUhi also get into his talk and sleep. The never ending story of the poor little boy.
That brought a big smile on her face
Ruhi: mamma
Radhika: ok beta, she started the story, looking up the sky Radhika started imagining that little boy looking at the brightest one upon the sky
Her lips moved and she came to that point where the boy went to sleep
Ruhi curiously sat on her tummy looking at her face: then!!!!!!!!!!
Radhika with a smile: then when the boy woke up, he got ready to meet her parents, but the sky was so clear and the boy looked at the horizon at its farthest end. where his mom pointed. He packed his bag with food and water and walk out from his house. He walked onto the front path to reach the horizon, so that he can climb onto the sky. He rested on his way and he continued and when it became dark, the boy saw the stars again upon the sky. A smile came up on his face, he thought he is so near to them now. Sitting on the grass he kept his eyes on her, and started talking to her. The stars twinkled with a lovely smile. He smiled too.
The star was watching this little boy for long, and she saw how much he is trying to be near her, she felt sad, so she decided to come down to meet the little boy.
She shoot down from the above sky and came near the little boy. Little boy got so happy and he looked at her brightest smile.
Boy's widening eyes said: you look so beautiful
The star: so do you
Boy: but you look really pretty
They sat down together for the whole night and talked and talked and talked. And the boy felt so happy.
Ruhi too"
Radhika: really!!!
Ruhi: now Ruhi wants that star
Radhik: what?
"Ruhi wants it too, Ruhi wants to talk to that star"
Radhika mama's ruhi is a star
Ruhi: no ruhi wants to talk to a star.
Radhika with a smile , make her to lay next to her on her back, and said: now look up, which one you like the most
Ruhi pointed at one
Radhika: now you talk to her, she can listen to you
Ruhi: really!!
Radhika nodding her head: um
Ruhi: papa don't know
Radhika your papa don't know anything,
"Ruhi's papa knows everything"
Radhika: um
Ruhi: um
Radhika: then tell your papa to tell a story next time ok
Ruhi: no mamma knows it too
Radhika: no you are papa's princess .,r ight?
Suddenly giving a "muwaaa" on her mom's cheek: RUhi loves mamma too
Radhika holding her closer to her chest: I know, you are oiling me now, when papa comes, you change the side easily
Ruhi: no RUhi's mamma nice
Radhika with a smile : so let's go down now
Ruhi: um
She put her on to her shoulder again and walked back into their room. Soon the little one drift into sleep. Radhika felt the coldness and she wished for his warm wrap around her. But then looking at the side, she saw her little one smiling in her sleep
Radhika: why she is smiling, is she seeing a beautiful dream???, she just watched her little one for some time, her smiley face, her dreamy eyes, and soon the heavy lids of Radhika's eyes closed to new world of imagination.
The days passed quck, Dev came along with Suchi . RUhi ran into his arms: muwaaa
Dev: did RUhi miss papa?
Ruhi cling more saying: RUhi knows story
Dev: oh that's nice, so now Ruhi tells papa a story ok.and you know what papa brought for you
He gave a gift packet, she went and ran to Suchi's lap and Suchi helped her to unwrap it and the little ones eyes widened seeing the beautiful young princess picture wearing a blue and yellow pretty dress satnding with a small basket in her hand and seven dwarfs standing in a circle
"who is it dadi?'
Suchi with a smile: that is a princess
Ruhi: what;s her name?
Suchi with a smile: um, Ruhi princess
Climbing down from her dadi's lap , she ran tinto the kitchen area: Radhikaa, ruhi princess, see, papa brought ...
Suchi just smiled as she watched the little one disappearing into the new world of imagination with her loud words adding the curiosity and excitment...
