Chapter 9

gulaal left and came in CID office dushyant looked at her and asked "kya hua gulaal kya baat hai"

gulaal said "sir one week ho gaya hai aur uske peecha karte hue koi bhi clue nahi mila aur phir ab mujhe lagta hai use mujhpar sahq bhi ho gaya hai to ab woo alert ho jayega uspar spy karne ka koi fayda nahi"

dushyant said "haan gulaal u r right agar neeraj ko pata chal gaya hai to ab us par spy karne ka koi fayda nahi?tum rehne do ek kaam karo kesar k saare purani files search karo dekho kanha koi link hai yaa nahi"

gulaal said "ok sir"

and she took out all the past records of kesar but as usual the information wasn't sufficient to get hold of him

at night

gulaal finished her job and sat in her jeep and drove away while driving she crossed kesar's residence...gulaal stopped there and thought for a sec and said "waise to kuch nahi mil raha agar iske ghar k talashi lu to"

and she decided to enter his house quietly...gulaal stopped her jeep in near distance and waited till midnight

midnight kesar's residence

gulaal quietly climb the boundary wall and jumped in and bend and started walking slowly..she was walking down the garden quietly and she saw kesar's pet dog coming towards her...she quickly ran in the other direction and his dog ran after her...soon the dog surrounded her and barked at her she wanted to pin her down..

gulaal said fearlfully "quite imli good doggie" and then took out dog biscuit

after much coaxing and flattering imli...gulaal finally suceeded and imli ate the biscuit and ran in other direction

and gulaal ran in other direction she quitely slid into the window and entered a room...it was kesar's room

the room was beautiful and grand and equipped with modern and expensive black furniture gulaal look around and then she heard someone footsteps

gulaal quickly ran and open the almirah and hide in the almirah and peep from the keyhole

kesar entered his room he was wearing black waist and grey lower he sat on the chair and was working in his laptop gulaal was looking at him keenly

then kesar turned back and looked at the almirah gulaal hide back and her heart pounded in her ears she heard the footsteps coming near to her and as the footstep came near her heartbeat accelerated...kesar opened the almirah and searched for his clothes gulaal was quite but shaking inside in fear and nervousness...she just closed her eyes and kesar grabbed her wrist and pulled her close to him gulaal was pulled towards him and her lips touched her shoulder and her head rested on his chest gulaal in fear hold his arm to support her...after a sec gulaal look upwards kesar stood straight looking at her with a deep passion and she looked at him with the complicated set of emotions she was confused nervous attracted..she stared into the beautiful dark depth of kesar's eyes that hold appreciation and a subtle devotion for her...for a sec she was enchanted and within a sec she parted with him

kesar looked at her and said "is tarah ek young handsome bachelor ladke k ghar mein ek khubsoorat shariff ladki ko aadhi raat mein nahi aana chahiye kyu daddy ne nahi sekhaya"

gulaal said "mein yanha search karne aayi hun" and she took out her gun and pointed at him and said "ab jyada bakwass nahi karna aur mujhe chupchap apna room search karne dena aur khabardaar agar mujhse search warrant maanga to?."

Kesar smiled and said "mein kab maang raha hun jo chahe woo search kar lo sab tumhara hi hai"

Gulaal replied "just keep quiet ok and don't move chupchap wanhi raho"

Kesar said "ok tum aaram se meri room ko search karna aur mein chupchap tumhe dekhta rahunga"

Gulaal gave a irritated look at him and then opened his alimrah as she opened his drawer kesar said mischiviously from behind "waise gulaal tumhe pata hai ek young handsome bachelor ladke k room k talashi ek ladki ko nahi leni chahiye..baaki tumahri marzi"

Gulaal turned back and rolled her eyes kesar smiled and winked his eyes...gulaal felt little awkward she turned back and now she was suspicious she said to herself "kyu nahi leni chahiye"

Hesistantly she opened the drawer and was amused to see her pictures were lying in his drawer the picture that kesar clicked while she was spying on him

Gulaal took the pics and said "yeh mere pictures yanha kya rahe hain"

Kesar replied "ab agar koi ladki mere peeche pad jaaye to uske baare mein janana to padega hi"

Gulaal said "yeh pics mein le jaungi"

Kesar said "le jao mere pass bahoot hai"

Gulaal replied irriatedly "mujhe original copy chahiye"

Kesar replied "kyu du???? Aur agar chahiye to apne professionals SE se kehna mera email ka password hack kar le usme rakhe hai mil jayenge" he said smiling

Gulaal said "tum no 1 besharam lafange aur badmaash ho"

Kesar smiled and said "haan woo to hun"

Gulaal looked back and searched the other drawer and side table and she found her lost bracelet and clutcher that went missing while she spied on him

She said angrily "aur yeh mera clutcher aur bracelet bhi chura liya"

Kesar snatched her clutcher and bracelet and said "arey waapas karo mujhe yeh meri grlfriend ka hai waapas chahiye"

Gulaal snatched the clutcher and bracelet back and said "oh yaa high hopes tumhari koi gf nahi hai jyada mat bano"

Kesar said "acha to yeh bhi pata kar liya k meri gf hai k nahi itna kyu janana chahiti ho mere baare mein"

Gulaal looked at him and stepped back and said "hum police waale hai sab pata hona chahiye aur haan waise tum jaise faltu insaan se kaun pyaar karega"

Kesar said "kya pata meere peeche peeche bhagte bhagte kahin tum ko hi pyaar naa ho jaaye"

Gulaal said "thodi sharam kar le pakade gaye to tujhe third degree torture mein hi dungi"

Kesar smiled "no probs"

Gulaal searched the whole room but she didn't find any clue she was about to leave

Kesar called her "gulaal"

Gulaal turned back

Kesar smiled and said "gulaal mujhe search nahi karogi" and he stretched his arms

Gulaal looked confused

Kesar smiled and said "kya pata gulaal necklace mere pass hi ho search nahi karogi mujhe"

Gulaal looked down for a moment and then walked towards him she stood too close to him kesar was smiling gulaal looked at his eyes and said don't move and she moved her hands and touched his shoulders...kesar said to search him mishiviously but now as she touched him he shuddered he felt like feather was floating acrross him he was uneasy and restless as her hands moved across his body...gulaal first touched him coldy and slowly she moved her hand soflty it was the only time she ever showed him any tenderness...his heart beat was accelerating every second and his restless increased every passing moment... the touch of her hand kindled his soul gulaal searched him and as she put her hand around his waist...he put his hand around her waist...gulaal was taken by she was freezed at that moment her voice was choked and she sawollwed sharply

Still she gathered her strength and said with increased breath "kesar?..tum yeh??"

Kesar looked at her and said huskily "shhh don't move"

And then his hand ran up her spine setting every nerve of her on fire?.kesar floated his hand on her back he touched her like a flower and her sense were tensed...she closed her eyes at the spark of feeling and opened it again kesar freed her and caught a spider that was on her back

Kesar looked at her and said "tumhare upar spider tha agar kaat leta to spider woman ban jaati shayyad garden se aaya hoga" and he let the spider go

Kesar turned back looked at her

An awkward silence ensued in the room punctuated by his passionate look

Gulaal collected herself and said kesar necklace kanha hai

Kesar pointed at the vass and said "uske andar"

Gulaal searched the flower vass and found a beautiful necklace

Gulaal looked at him and said "yeh woo necklace nahi hai yeh kanha se chura kar laaye ho"

Kesar said "khareeda hai"

Gulaal asked "diamond necklace?"

Kesar said "haan american diamonds tumhare liye...humari pehli date aur pehli long drive k liye tumhari liye laaya tha"

Gulaal threw the necklace away and said "itni bure din nahi aaye hein mere k tumse gift lu"

And she walked towards window

Kesar asked "kanha jaa rahi ho"

Gulaal said "apne ghar jaa rahi hun"

Kesar smiled and said "window se kyu jaa rahi ho yanha darwazaa hai"

Gulaal bite her tongue and said "not again"

Kesar showed her way and escorted her outside

Kesar looked at her and said "acha laga tum aayi jab bhi aana ho aa jana mujhe koi problem nahi hai...aur haan meri imli ko dog biscuits bilkul pasand nahi hai uske liye agli baar pedigree dog food lana"

And hen he kissed his finger and placed on her forehead and said bye and take care gulaal

Gulaal stepped back stared him and left

Gulaal sat in her jeep and drove home

She reached her home and entered her room

Gulaal took out her coat and the necklace and a note fell down

Gulaal looked at the necklace and said "phir se meri pocket mein rakh diya"

And curiously she opened the note

"Gulaal jo khud heera ho use heera kaise du?.is necklace ko apne gale se laga lena yeh beshkimti ho jayega"

and the words disappeared after 5 min again leaving the note blank

gulaal looked at necklace and threw it on her bed and then lay herself on the bed...gulaal was thinking about him and she turned on the fm radio

a ghazal "Badi hassen raat thi" by late shri jagjit singh ji was played

(brightness of the lamp was absorbed and distracted it was such a elgant and beautiful night)

(the veil and shyness of the youth was distracted in such a beautiful night)

Gulaal sat on her bed she looked at necklace fondly and then image of kesar flashed in her mind .wen he took her into his arms wen he save her from bullet wen he massaged her feet gently...wen he kissed his finger and placed it on her cheeks wen she fell on him wen he touched her in his room all his images were flashing slowly in her mind

And the stanza of the song came

(the book in which it was wriiten that love is forbidden and unlawful)

(that book became meaningless and it disappeared)

(it was such a beautiful night)

In the meantime kesar was sitting in his room he was listening the same song.he gently looked at lipstick mark on his shoulder that was marked on him as gulaal fell on him.. kesar was looking at it and touched his shoulder

And the last stanza of the song was played

(all the queries and answer were meaningless)

Gulaal and kesar woke late night thinking about each other
