Charismatic Rekha turns 56 today...On 10th October,1954 the diva was born to Tamil Actor Gemini Ganeshan and Telugu actress Pushpavalli..Her birth name was Bhanurekha Ganeshan.

Rekha who reigned bollywood for more than 40 years has acted in 180 films..She was also seen as a child artist in Telugu movie Rangula Ratnam.

Rekha won three filmfare awards and National Award for her portraying the role of a classical courtesan in Umrao Jaan[1981).

Enigmatic Rekha's love life is also intriguing..Rumour has it that she got married to yesteryear actor Vinod Mehra in 1973 but Rekha denied that in a chat show referring him as "a well-wisher". It was also heard that she was having an affair with Amitabh Bachchan who was already married to Jaya Bachchan then.

In the year 1990 Rekha married Delhi based businessman Mukesh Agarwal..But that marriage too had a tragic end..Mukesh ended his life in 1991 by committing suicide.
