The pooja was concluded by the party which was a great success and went on till the wee hours in the morning.
"Where is Maan, Dev beta?" Not seeing Maan down for breakfast she asked. "Dadima, Maan bro left early morning for London as his flight was an early morning one" Vicky replied.
"Why so early in the morning and that too without informing anyone about it?" She asked with a puzzled expression in her eyes.
"Because, an urgent meeting came up and the client in London wanted to finalize the details and the budget of the project which is coming up in soon."
"But what about the preparations for your engagement party, Mehendi Rasm, marriage ceremony, reception party, which is suppose to take place in a month's time? How can he go just like that? He was supposed to look after all the preparation details. Even I will not be there to look after everything. "
"Don't worry Ma, you worry too much. He will come back in time for the engagement party and he has arranged for an event manager who will look after all the details and coordinate with Pari on that, and you will be back in by that time na" Geet replied.
"No beta, I will be gone for 2 months and will be back just before your Ring exchange party. Even if he has arranged an event manager, then also I would like to talk to him, please call him, Dev beta."
Dev rings Maan on his mobile.
"Maan, where are you and why did you not tell me about this meeting?"
"Dadima, I am in London and as the meeting was decided late last night and you had gone off to sleep by then I could not inform you about it."
"But, how can you leave Geet's Marriage arrangements in middle?"
"I will be back by then and all the arrangements have been taken care off, please don't worry, Dadima"
"OK, Maan beta, but please be back on time."
"Dadi, is Geet there? Can I talk to her?
Dadi gives the phone to her and informs her that Maan is on the other side.
"Hello, Maan, I am very angry with you, why did you have to go now?" Geet asked in a petulant tone.
He smiled to himself as he knew that she would not get angry at him, it was a fake anger that she was showing, so he replied, "I know that you are not actually angry with me and I am really sorry that I was called away so suddenly. So as a way of saying sorry, do you want me to get anything for you from here?"
"So you are sorry huh, let's see '''ummm...how...how about you get me the things in the list which I am going to text you right now." Geet say with a mischievous glint in her eyes...
"Shopping. Ugh! That too for you." Maan says it in a frustrated tone.
"Mr. Maan Singh Khurana what do you mean by 'that too for me'? You know what, I might just add a couple of hundred more things to that list of mine." Geet said in a miffed tone...
"Hai babaji, Mujhe is ladki se bachana. Ok, ask Dev if he want something from here, and if he wants add it to your list. Tell Dadima I will be back in a month's time and not to worry about the marriage arrangements, I will look after it."
Having talked to his family and giving them the news about the success of the project, his thoughts turned towards the impending work and how the time has flown. Maan kept on thinking about the month and a half passing away so quickly, his work absorbing away his time and attention. Dev and Geet's wedding was just round the corner and still lot of things needed the finishing touches.
As he stared out of the window at the clouds he kept on thinking the changes that would take place in Dev and Geet's life. Both moving in the same direction towards their goal and working hard to achieve success for their company. Now both will have to apply the same principle with their Marriage.
At Khurana Mansion the preparation were at full swing. The Ring exchange ceremony would take place tonight and the Marriage in about a week's time, with all the other rituals happening during that week. Invitations were sent well in advance for the party and which would be formal black tie occasion.
Savitri Devi cut short her visit to be there at the Khurana Mansion for the wedding. Everything was going just as planned except the presence of Maan, though he was expected soon anyway. Everyone was in the hall discussing and finalizing the last minute hitches when suddenly, Dev asked
"Dadima, when is bro coming back?"
"I don't know Dev, but when I talked to him last he told me of the completion of the project and he coming back soon." She replied looking worried as today was the formal engagement and many important people were invited. The presence of Maan was necessary as he would have to look after many of the dignitaries himself as they were his invites.
"Vicky, please call up Maan and find out where is he?"
"Ji, Dadima" as soon as he turned, he gasped, taking a quick breath with a strangled sound emitting from his throat and his mouth wide open, surprise written all over his face.
Hearing the strangled sound everyone looked at him looking at the hallway door, everyone had the same expression as Vicky.
Maan came in touching Savitri Devi's feet and looking at the surprised written on all the faces, said
"Dadi, this is Sunny" and he blushed.
