Maan came in touching Savitri Devi's feet and looking at the surprised written on all the faces, said
"Dadi, this is Sunny"
Part 15
The shocked expression in everyone's eyes when they saw Maan's hand around Sunny's waist was enough to bring color on his face. While, Maan was introducing Sunny to every one in the hall, at that time'''.
Geet was sitting in front of the mirror with a smile and a telling blush on her face, lost in her thoughts thinking about the first time they had gone out together. Though she had thought he would be taking her to a fancy restaurant he had surprised her by taking her out of the city to a river not stopping until they reached a place, she could not believe existed in the area so near the city limits. The Place was amazing with the river giving way to a stream which was lined with trees having low branches hanging over the water. It was so peaceful and serene that she had doubts of it being artificially created until Dev explained that the whole area belonged to the Khuranas and they did not want to spoil the natural beauty of the place by building anything in the vicinity.
They had just walk on the banks hand in hand both enjoying the serene beauty and their togetherness until they reached a place where the steam had slowed down to form a pool which had a tree growing just near enough for the low sturdy branches to hang over it. Geet had been happy to see that someone had tied a swing over the low hanging branch. She had run towards it displaying the excitement of a five year old urging Dev to swing her which he had compiled.
From her first outing her thoughts wondered towards the office party. Office party on the New Year eve had been a great way to rejuvenate and rejoice with colleagues and friends. They had music food and played games.
She had worn a simple Knee length, shoulder less sundress with a slender string forming a loop round her neck and joining the middle of the dress with a diamante brooch right on the cleavage forming a V of sorts in the shade of midnight blue. The dress had been a gift from Maan on her birthday and was her favorite.
(The dress some what like this except it was knee length)
They had lot of fun playing games, teasing each other, pulling each others leg, spinning the bottle for a game of Dare or truth, treasure hunt.
(A treasure hunt is one of many different types of games which can have one or more players who try to find hidden articles, locations or places by using a series of clues. This is a fictional activity; treasure hunting can also be a real life activity. Treasure hunt games may be an indoor or outdoor activity. Outdoors they can be played in a garden or the treasure could be located anywhere around the world.)
While playing Treasure hunt all tried to undo and out perform each other. They whole office looked like a war zone with broken balloons everywhere, confetti and glitter strewn all over the floor, the work desks a mess with colored paper all over. The hunt for the gift which had been hidden by Adi Sir had yet to yield result but every one was enjoying the party and was having super fun. As Geet had been working from morning and was in forefront organizing the event she was tired by the end of it so she decided to go in search of refreshments. As soon as she crossed the hall she was pulled behind the pillar by Dev.
"Is there a problem Dev? Do you want something?"
Dev had just kept on looking at her.
She had become conscious and fidgeted, never thinking her self to be beautiful and interesting.
He was looking her that way again. Why? She wasn't that beautiful or interesting. Was she?
Suddenly becoming aware that he had still not said anything but was just staring--like a schoolboy with a crush on his teacher--- he stepped closer to her, "Hold still. One of those silver sparkles is very close to your eye. We need to get rid of it."
"We do?" Geet held her breath as he cupped her chin in his hand and used the index finger of his other hand to lightly stroke the skin beneath her right eye. He was so close to her, so intent on what he was doing. She could see little reddish flecks in his warm brown pupils. The slight laugh crinkles around the outside of his eyes.
She had felt herself almost falling towards him.
Okay, so her body wasn't moving.
Her mind, however, had wanted him to close the gap between them.
He continued to stroke her skin, out and over her cheek. His fingers trailed down her face, following the line of her chin.
If either of them had a knife, there was enough tension in the air to give even a freshly sharpened blade a run for his money.
Geet swallowed and heard the sounds of that swallow in her ears.
She was so naive, Dev smiled.
Yes, all the way up to and including his eyes. "There, all done. You're safe now. For the moment, at least," he said as he stepped back, his neat double entenderes circling fast and furious around her slightly muzzy head.
She was jerked awake from her beautiful thoughts by the ringing of the phone in her room.
"Geet beta, would you please bring Aarti ki thali"
