Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out - after graduating top of her class from medical school, she'll follow in her father's footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon.
But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work with him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast town only to find that Harley has passed away and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will.
She quickly finds that Southern hospitality isn't always so hospitable - the other doctor in town, Brick Breeland, is less than pleased to be sharing the practice with this young outsider, and his daughter, Lemon, is a Southern belle whose sweet disposition turns sour when she meets Zoe.
Zoe's only allies are the mayor, former football star Lavon Hayes, her bad-boy neighbor Wade Kinsella, and handsome lawyer George Tucker - who just happens to be Lemon's fiance. Zoe is out of her element and ready to pack her bags, but a surprise visit by her snobby New York mother leads to Zoe's decision to stay in Bluebell for a while, discovering small-town life and a side of herself she hadn't known was there.

Bilson is enjoying a successful and continually developing acting career on both big and small screens. Other past film credits include starring as the female lead in "Waiting for Forever" as well as in "Jumper" for 20th Century Fox Studios, "The Last Kiss," with Zach Braff and directed by Tony Goldwyn for Paramount, and opposite Andy Garcia in a film comprised of a series of shorts called "New York, I Love You." Bilson has additionally appeared twice as a guest star on the television series "How I Met Your Mother" as well as Josh Schwartz's "Chuck."
In 2008, Bilson released her own clothing line called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans. Currently in stores, Bilson designed a line of house ware products for Macy's called Edie Rose Home
Bilson also became an integral part of pop culture due to her series regular role on the very popular television show "The O.C." for four seasons.
She also had guest-starring roles in television series such as "That '70s Show," "Mad TV," "8 Simple Rules" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Scott Porter stars as Bluebell, Alabama's golden boy George Tucker in The CW's new series "Hart of Dixie," a fish-out-of-water story about a New York City doctor (Rachel Bilson) adjusting to life in a small Southern town after she inherits a local medical practice.
Porter is perhaps best known for his critically-acclaimed performance on the beloved drama "Friday Night Lights," on which he starred as the fallen quarterback, Jason Street. He also had recurring roles on the CBS hit drama "The Good Wife," opposite Julianna Margulies, and on "Caprica," the prequel series to the smash hit "Battlestar Galactica."
On the big screen, Porter will next be seen in Jamie Linden's romantic comedy "Ten Year," alongside Channing Tatum, Kate Mara, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson. He recently wrapped production on Maggie Carey's "The To Do List," a film also starring Rachel Bilson, Aubrey Plaza and Connie Britton. With her charm and all-American mass appeal, King has graced the covers of top fashion magazines as a model and starred in a variety of roles on television and in film as a rising actress.
On the big screen, King most recently starred in "Mother's Day," "The Spirit," "My Bloody Valentine 3D" and "Fanboys." She also lent her voice to George Lucas' animated series, "Star Wars: Clone Wars." King also had feature film roles in "Pearl Harbor," "Blow," "Slackers," "Two for the Money," "White Chicks," "Sin City," "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," as well as the independent features "Pretty Persuasion," "The Tripper," "They Wait," "A Fork in the Road" and "The Pardon."
King broke into television roles with MTV's "House of Style," "Kitchen Confidential," "The Class" and "Gary Unmarried."

Wilson Bethel stars as Bluebell, Alabama's resident bad boy Wade Kinsella in The CW's new series "Hart of Dixie," a fish-out-of-water story about a New York City doctor (Rachel Bilson) adjusting to life in a small Southern town after she inherits a local medical practice.
Bethel has two upcoming films: "The First Ride of Wyatt Earp," opposite Val Kilmer, and "Stealing Summers," opposite James Jagger, son of Mick. Within the past year, he has also filmed 80 episodes of "The Young and the Restless," playing the terminally embattled heartthrob, Ryder Callahan.
Bethel landed his big break in the Emmy-nominated HBO miniseries "Generation Kill" in 2008, playing a young recon Marine alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Stark Sands. He made news in early 2010 as a final contender for the title role in Marvel's "Captain America."
Previous television credits include "Cold Case," "NCIS" and "The O.C." In fact, Bethel guest-starred as Summer's (Bilson) boyfriend on "The O.C."
A longtime DJ and record collector, Bethel is a self-proclaimed vinyl nerd. Williams was born in Heidelberg, Germany. Shortly after his birth, he returned from Germany to Chicago. He moved with his mother to California when he was 3 and spent most of his childhood in Orange County. He attended Fullerton Community College where he received his theater and acting foundation. He later completed his theater degree at UCLA. While in college, Williams performed in over 20 plays, including "Othello," "The Elephant Man," "Extremities" and "Red Noses." His film and television career began toward the end of his college years.
Most recently, Williams appeared in the final season of the beloved series "Friday Night Lights." His additional television credits include "Cold Case," "Prison Break," "Close to Home," "The West Wing," "Veronica Mars," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "E.R.," "NYPD Blue" and "Grey's Anatomy," among others. His film credits include "2 Days in the Valley" and "Never Been Kissed," starring Drew Barrymore.
