In my opinion Gopi deserves everything thrown at her by Rashi and her mother, I mean hasn't she ever heard of the saying 'Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me'. I mean she lets herself get manipulated oh so easily even after witnessing many accounts of conspiracies set up against her by Rashi. All in all it has nothing to do with being educated but more to do with common sense. If u can perfectly see that your about to hit ur foot on an axe and still do nothing to avoid, u kinda deserve it.

but put youself in Gopi's shoes. i get she's an orphan and has been brainwashed for most of her life but when she got married and saw ppl like kokila, mota bhabhi, jigar and now ahem, who actually care for her. Wouldn't or should i say should'nt she be able to differenciate between the two. It seems like she looks at the world through rose coloured glasses. Even a child become cautious after being hurt one, and gopi is grown woman. Its high time she starts acting like one and quit playing the victim.

don't try to put urself in her shoes dear..we, i mean non of us can relate to what that girl has been subjected to..we are looking from a place where we were pampered by our parents all our lives, got a good education and had friends and siblings surrounding us to love us..
we from a secure world and look down at her..but from where she is coming it is a norm..she has never known any different..she once said crying that she has never called anyone 'ma' that means she never even for her whole life got security love or warmth..she was brought up to accept that her mami's word being the last word..having to learn to obey every wish and unreasonable demand of her sister..she is getting love now after her marriage but not full security yet..
also 18 or so years of insecurity and hurt can't be erased by a few months of love and acceptance..it needs more time than that to heal her wounds and make her a normal person as u and i..perhaps a life time may not be enough..

so for us saying is easy that she is stupid..dumb and should know better that this..but for her it is not so easy..

I wouldnt go as far as to say she deserves what Rashi is doing to her, but come on can a person really be this naive? No matter what kind of upbringing shes had.
Gopi has seen how Kokila behaves with Rashi, so there must be a reason why Koki is like that with Rashi. Gopi should learn from that atleast to be careful when Rashi is around and not be so gullible. Rashis put Gopi in a dilemma a few times now. But Gopi is still so naive.
The show has been going on for over a year now and theres still seems to be no progression. Its going round in circles.
And Ahem still talks to her as if shes a child.

It's not about being pampered or knowing love and warmth. Its because she's never had anyone to love her for her that all the more reasons for her to have her guard up. But they just keep emphasizing that because she's uneducated she falls for everything trick in the bag. If you've know love all your life and it gets taken away from you I can understand that person acting a bit naive and trusting the wrong people. But some whose never known it should have their guard up and not act so trusting. They treat her like dirt cuz that how she wants to be treated.

don't agree, prehaps your forgetting she never went to school and was always physically, mentally and psychologically abused so she never learnt how to stand up for herself,if she did, she would have been even more abused and besides she thought her mami was doing a favour on her by living in her house..

Princess Unara, loved your description of Gopi's character :-)

It is frustrating that Gopi doesn't get the "once bitten, twice shy" rule, but guess that's just part of her character. She almost told Rashi once to butt out, but then that was soon followed by Urmila almost twisting her ears off by the well. And then Rashi "saved" her from any more physical harm from Urmila. So perhaps, Gopi just mistakenly sees Rashi, as someone whose there for her, got her back, looks out for her.

Gopi never hears the conversations behind closed doors, so she never knows what Rashi is really like. But the exam at least gave Gopi the opportunity to see how Rashi was messing things up for her. But rather than blame her, Gopi blames herself, revealing her tragic lack of self-esteem.

Her faith and trust in God, however is her source of strength and protection. Even if she found about all of Rashi's deeds, the first thing she would do without hesitaion, is forgive. That's quite a remarkable attribute 😊
