Heard debangg ruled the music awards and Ranveer looks good 😃👏

More than a year after its release, Salman Khan's blockbuster Dabangg is still making the right noises. The latest news is that the film has swept the board at the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA).
The film featuring the popular item song "Munni Badnaam Hui" won six awards at the GIMA held on Thursday night at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon. The show was hosted by Ranveer Singh and Neha Dhupia. Celebs like Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Rajeev Khandelwal added star power to the show.
The music album of Dabangg won the best film album award and its composer duo Sajid-Wajid were adjudged the best music directors. Singer Mamta Sharma won the best music debut for 'Munni Badnam' while Sunidhi Chauhan won the best playback singer (female) for 'Sheila ki jawani'.
Dabangg also won the technical awards for best background score by Sandeep Shirodkar, best sound engineered-film album by Eric Pillai and best sound engineer-theatre mix for Leslie Fernandes.
'Pee Loon' from Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai was named the best song, with its crooner Mohit Chauhan winning the best playback singer (male) award and writer Irshad Kamil taking home the best lyricist award.
Oscar winner AR Rahman, who has composed for international films like Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, was honoured with the title of Global Indian Musician.
Legendary composer Pyarelal of musical duo Lakshmikant-Pyarelal was conferred with outstanding contribution to pop music award, and the outstanding contribution to Indian classical music title was given to music maestro Balamurli Krishnan.
