Mandira Bedi's long hair has disappeared and the actress is now sporting a brand new look.

After mulling for months on the "should I, shouldn't I?" question, Mandy finally went the whole hog and lopped off her locks….

Why did you decide to cut your hair?
I had been thinking about doing this for a long time. I was getting bored with my look and wanted to change it, but didn't know what to do. The other day, I was shopping at a store, where I was introduced to a stylist, Claribelle, who also does Kareena and Lara's hair. After meeting her, I decided to put myself in her hands and go with her vision.

Who was the first person to see the new look?
It had to be my husband, Raj (Kaushal). After the haircut, I invited him to come and have coffee with me. He quite liked my new look, and asked me to keep it.

Thankfully, my two dogs recognised me, which goes to show that it isn't a drastic change. The boys who work with me, also said, 'didi, you're looking different'.

How much did the haircut cost?
The streaks are actually hair extensions. I am not to keen on colouring or highlighting my natural hair; I am fond of its natural black colour. The new look cost me Rs 1,200.

Do you regret cutting off your long hair?
The whole process was very therapeutic for me, and I am enjoying my new look. Claribelle decided not to cut my hair too short, but to keep it layered. I think I am already a new person with this look — it has even changed my mindset.

"Wow" is the word that comes to mind when I look at his hair. He keeps it long, cuts it short, braids it, goes bald…. I admire him for taking risks with his styling.

What strikes me about her hair is the dark blue-black colour. It looks rich and highly conditioned. I respect the fact that CZJ has never tried to go blonde or change her natural colour.
